Get Started

It can be difficult and expensive to build a
hardware prototype. Moto Mods™ Development
Kit (MDK) makes it easier, so you can focus on
your idea.
The MDK includes a Reference Moto Mod, a
perforated board to solder your own electrical
components, and a cover.
Note: The Reference Moto Mod is only compatible
with the Moto Z family of devices.
To get started, connect the Reference Moto Mod
to your phone and install the example apps on
your Moto Z.
Visit http://developer.motorola.com to find example
apps and to learn about the architecture,
hardware specs, and software capabilities of the
Moto Mods Development Kit.
Also available are Personality Cards (sold
separately), which are examples that can be
inserted into the Reference Moto Mod. The
available Personality Cards include full electrical
design, firmware and Android application SW,
along with examples of common devices, such as
a sensor, battery, speaker or display.
