INTRODUCTION
Important: Read these instructions carefully so as to familiarise yourself with the appliance
before connecting it to its gas container. Keep these instructions for future reference.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Before connecting to your gas cylinder
- Use only the recommended gas cylinders and burner components
- The use of other types of gas cylinders and burner components can be dangerous.
- Use only approved replacement parts.
- Never connect a gas cylinder to the device without first reading the instructions printed on the cylinder.
- Check that seal between the regulator and the gas container are in place and in good condition before
connecting to the gas container.
- Never use the device if the seal is is damaged or worn. Never use the device if it is not airtight, damaged
or does not function properly.
- Check hoses for signs of damage
- Never operate the device if any part is damaged.
- Gas cartridges may only be changed or connected in a well ventilated location, preferably outdoors and
away from all possible sources of ignition such as open flames, pilot lights, electric cooking appliances
and away from other persons.
- Shut the valve on the handle before connecting a to a gas cylinder.
- Make certain that all connections are air tight and always ensure that the gas connection is air tight before
you light the burner.
- Is is prohibited to smoke while connecting the gas cartridge. Follow the instructions on changing the gas
cylinder. Always start the assembly at the gas cylinder.
- Beware of heating up the gas cylinder or burning the gas hose. If necessary use alternate accessories

OPERATING CONDITIONS

- Set the system up in a position that prevents the burner tipping or falling over.
- To prevent the risk of liquefied gas escaping, the gas cylinder may only be used when it is standing upwards.
- The device may not be used underground.
- Do not use the device in the proximity of heat sources (radiators, oven, open fires or similar).
- Use the system only in well-ventilated spaces. Observe applicable national regulations:
- On the air supply
- On preventing the accumulation of dangerous amounts of un-burnt gas.
- Use the burner only well away from inflammable or oily materials.
- Wear protective clothing which is clean and free of oil
- Be sure not to inhale any fumes produced. Use an extraction system when soldering.
- Always wear protective goggles when soldering.
- Always close the regulator valve when you take a break from work.
- The device may not be left unattended during operation as gas can escape if the flame goes out. This is
potentially dangerous.
- Always store the system out of the reach of children and prevent children from gaining access to the system.
- An unregular flame can be produced for a short while if a new gas cylinder is connected to a cold burner.
- To prevent the risk of burns, do not touch the burner after use, even if the device has only been in use for
a short while.
Caution: Accessible parts can be very hot. Keep children away from the device. Always close the
cylinder valve when you leave the appliance unattended and make sure that it cannot be operated
by unauthorised persons.
What to do in case of a leak
If gas escapes from the system (smell of gas or emergence of gas bubbles during a soapy water test), close
the gas cylinder valve and take the system outdoors immediately to a well-ventilated location away from sources
of ignition where the leak can be safely detected and repaired. Take the device outdoors before checking for
leaks. Never check for leaks using a flame; always use a soapy solution or a leak detection spray! Keep the
system under close observance until the leaked gas has dissipated completely.
