Servicing and maintenance
The installation must be switched off before any servicing or maintenance
is carried out.
7.1
Leak checking and general periodical inspections
Carry out a leak detection check annually or as specified by national or local regulations.
The following should be checked on a regular basis:
• The condition of the anti-vibration mounting feet of the compressor
• Safety and control device settings and operation
• The condition of electrical and refrigeration connections
• Operating conditions
• The mounting of the condensing unit on its base
• Crankcase heater operation
Purging refrigerant from the system
7.2
Use a refrigerant recovery unit when removing refrigerant from the system.
The flow rate should be reduced to a minimum to prevent oil in the system being entrained.
All the pressure couplings for controls or refrigerant recovery must allow oil to flow back into the main
pipework for return to the compressor, otherwise oil will be lost from the system.
7.3 Compressor
7.3.1 Charging oil
The design of the rotary compressors is such that an oil change or the addition of oil cannot be carried out.
We strongly advise against adding oil to the refrigeration system, whether the pipework is long or short.
7.3.2 Replacing the compressor
It is possible to replace the compressor with an identical model; the electrical box must be turned by
90° to allow this.
7.3.3 Mountings
It is recommended to
check and replace regularly
the compressor anti-vibration
mounts. They should only be
replaced with identical AVM's
to ensure the noise levels
remain the same.
