SAFETY NOTES
This manual contains safety instructions. Read these completely and carefully. Failure to follow these instruc-
tions may result in personal injury and property damage. In addition, the manufacturer may refuse to accept
warranty, guarantee and product liability claims unless these safety instructions are followed.
• To operate your e-bike, use only genuine batteries approved by the vehicle's manufacturer. The use of batte-
ries from other manufacturers may result in injury or fire.
• Do not attempt to repair the battery, charger or motor. Do not open the housings of these components. Doing
so will invalidate any guarantee or warranty claims. In addition, these components can cause serious injury if
handled improperly.
• Risk of explosion and fire if exposed to extreme heat or water. Avoid excessive heating of the battery, e.g.
due to prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or storage near hot objects. Do not allow the battery to come into
contact with water.
Avoid mechanical stress on the battery. This could result in damage to the battery cells and/or flammable subs-
tances may leak from the battery.
• If the battery is used improperly, liquid may leak from the battery. Never touch the leaking fluid. In case of
contact with the leaking fluid, immediately rinse the affected area under running water. If fluid leaking from the
battery gets into your eyes, seek additional medical attention. Battery fluids can cause skin irritation or burns.
• Danger of poisoning from gases produced by a smoking or burning battery. Take care not to inhale the highly
toxic gases emitted by a smoking or burning battery.
• Only use the battery in conjunction with the original drive system components (motor and charger). Otherwi-
se, incompatible charging and discharging currents may result in property damage and serious injury.
• Do not dispose of the battery pack in a fire and do not expose it to heat sources. This may cause a fire or
explosion, which may result in serious injury or property damage.
• Never store or charge the battery near flammable materials or gases. The battery must only be charged via
the charger when in a dry condition and in a dry environment. The battery and the charger heat up during the
charging process! Due to this heat generation there is a risk of fire!
• Never leave the battery unattended during charging.
• To charge the battery, use only original chargers approved by the manufacturer of the e-bike.
• Risk of explosion and fire if the battery terminals are short-circuited. Never connect the battery terminals
directly to an electrical conductor. Risk of short-circuiting due to iron filings or household objects such as paper
clips coming into contact with the magnetic ring on the charging plug or the charging port on the battery or the
bike.
• Never store or use the charger in the presence of rain and moisture! If the charger comes into contact with
water, it may cause an electric shock.
• Only use the charger with the manufacturer's original batteries. The battery voltage must match the charging
voltage of the charger – otherwise there is a risk of fire and explosion.
• Protect the charger against contamination! A dirty charger may cause an electric shock.
• Do not operate the charger with a damaged cable or plug, or attempt to repair and/or open the charger.
Otherwise there is a risk of electric shock.
• Do not touch the charger during charging, as it may become very hot!
• Never cover the battery charger or place other objects on it while charging. This could lead to overheating
and cause a fire.
• Do not ride or wheel the bike over the charger's power cord or plug – there is risk of damaging the cable or
plug.
• Especially after riding at high motor power for prolonged periods, there is a risk of burns due to heating of the
motor. Make sure the motor has cooled down before touching it.
• All drive-specific components (e.g. chain ring, chain, pinion, etc.) are designed specifically for your e-bike
and the higher loads generated by an e-bike. Use only original parts or components approved by the bicycle's
manufacturer. Use of unsuitable components may damage the drive unit.
• Before carrying out any assembly work, ensure that the drive system is no longer supplied with power by
removing the vehicle's battery. Otherwise there is a risk that the drive will start up unexpectedly or an electric
arc will form when disconnecting/plugging in cables. This may result in serious injury and/or property damage.
• The pushing aid function is designed exclusively for pushing the e-bike. The wheels of the e-bike must be in
contact with the ground when using the pushing aid, otherwise there is a risk of injury!
• When using the pushing aid, the crank and pedals can rotate together. Therefore, when using the pushing
aid, keep a safe distance from the crank and the pedals – otherwise you could injure yourself.
• The on-board computer provides a wealth of information. Always keep a look-out for traffic; do not let yourself
be distracted by the on-board computer display. Failure to devote your full attention to the traffic around you
increases the risk of an accident.
• Do not use the display as a handle. Otherwise, damage to the display may occur.
• Keep the battery, charger and vehicle away from children under 8 years of age.
• Supervise the use of the charger, battery and vehicle by children aged 8 years and older, and ensure that
they do not play with them.
• Do not perform any actions (manipulation) that increases the power or the maximum supported speed of
your drive unit or vehicle. By doing so, you may endanger yourself and other road users. In addition, riding a
manipulated e-bike on public roads is illegal.
• Individuals who are unable to safely operate the e-bike, charger and/or battery due to their physical and/or
mental abilities may not use this charger without supervision or instruction by a responsible person. Otherwise,
there is a risk of injury or incorrect operation.
• If you notice unusual behaviour or irregularities affecting the battery, charger or vehicle, do not use them and
have them checked by your dealer.
• The lighting equipment that is fitted as standard can reach high temperatures, especially at standstill. Do not
touch it during or shortly after use – otherwise there is a risk of burns.
• Always ensure that you are sitting on the saddle with both hands on the handlebars at the start of each ride.
Otherwise you may experience a loss of control and/or be injured due to the onset of motor assistance.
• Inform yourself about compliance with the applicable national regulations regarding use, registration and
insurance of your e-bike.
WARRANTY
Your drive system and its appendant components are subject to the legal warranty requirements. The warranty
period commences upon sale respectively delivery of the vehicle to the end consumer.
THE DRIVE SYSTEM'S BATTERY is subject to natural wear due to charge/discharge cycles and the aging
process. Decreased capacity resulting from this does not constitute any warranty claims. For a 630Wh battery
the following applies:
- After 500 full charge cycles within the warranty period the battery still has at least 65% of its regular capacity.
- After 700 full charge cycles within the warranty period the battery still has at least 55% of its regular capacity.
