3. CONTROLLER CONNECTION AND SETUP
In order to connect the controller to your PS3™ system, please follow the steps below:
3.1. For first use or after a system firmware update, you must link the controller with the system according to these steps:
• First, make sure your PS3™ system is turned on.
• Once your controller is fully charged (see section 4 called "Charging The Controller") plug the USB-miniUSB cable included within the miniUSB controller connector and the other edge
into a free USB slot from your system; all 4 LED indicators will flash at the same time.
• Next, press the HOME button and a player number (from 1 to 4) will be automatically assigned and its matching LED indicator in the controller will be turned and will remain on.
• Unplug the USB cable from the system and from the controller.
• Now you can use the controller with your PS3™ system.
3.2. For regular use, when you have already linked the controller following the previous steps:
• First, make sure your PS3™ system is turned on.
• Check that your controller is fully charged for a normal use. Then, press the HOME button and a player number (from 1 to 4) will be automatically assigned and its matching LED
indicator in the controller will be turned and will remain on.
• Now you can use the controller with your PS3™ system.
Important: You may need to re-sync your controller after a PS3 firmware system update. If so, please follow the above steps in 3.1.
3.3. To use the controller with your PS3™ system as a wired controller, please follow the steps below:
• First, remove the battery pack included (VERY IMPORTANT). Open the battery compartment on the back of the controller using the release button of the battery cover in front of the
controller. Take out the battery and make sure that you store it in a safe place. Place again the battery cover and use the release button to lock it.
• Next, make sure your PS3™ system is turned on.
• Plug the USB-miniUSB cable included within the controller miniUSB connector and also in a free USB slot from your system, all 4 LED indicators will flash at the same time.
• Finally, press the HOME button and a player number (from 1 to 4) will be automatically assigned and its matching LED indicator in the controller will be turned and will remain on.
• Now you can use the controller with your PS3™ system as a wired controller.
4. CHARGING THE CONTROLLER
4.1. Installing the battery pack
•• This product works only with the battery pack included (also with the USB cable as I wired device, see section 3.3). No need for batteries.
• To install the battery pack, open the battery compartment located at the back of the controller and releasing the lock button of the battery cover, placed in front of the controller.
• Insert the battery pack watching and observing properly the polarity.
• Finally, place again the battery cover and place back the release button in order to lock it.
4.2. How to charge the controller
• In order to charge the battery pack from the controller, plug one side of the USB-miniUSB included cable into the miniUSB plug from the controller, and the other side to a free USB
slot in your PS3™ system. NOTE: You must power on the PS3™ system to make it work; with the system powered off, the controller will not charge even with the USB cable plugged.
• During the charging process, all 4 player LED indicators in the controller will flash to indicate that the charging process has started.
• The controller will be fully charged once the LED indicators stop flashing and remain still.
• When the battery pack power is too low, one of the LED indicators will start flashing slowly in order to indicate that you need to recharge the battery pack.
• You can play and charge simultaneously, but we recommend you not to use the controller during the charging process in order to fully and charge in a faster way the battery pack.
Important: DO NOT USE BATTERY PACKS OR CHARGERS THAT AREN'T serviceable and approved parts from Ardistel, because it may damage the device and the
warranty will be automatically cancelled. The warranty will not be applied to products provided by other suppliers or if as a result of a misuse you damage the product.
For the first 3 charges please charge the controller for 12h. So, the battery pack life will last longer.
To activate the TURBO function in some of the controller buttons, you must follow the steps below. Please note that you can activate the TURBO function only in the following 8 action
buttons: SQUARE, TRIANGLE, CIRCLE, X, L1, L2, R1 and R2.
When pressing an action button assigned with TURBO function will simulate the button being pressed constantly (e.g. boost firepower, kicks/hits, etc., depending on the software that
you use).

5. TURBO FUNCTION
• ACTIVATE TURBO MODE: First, press and maintain pressed the TURBO button, and with this button still pressed, press one or several of the 8 action buttons mentioned above to
activate this function on them. Now you can release the TURBO button.
• DEACTIVATE TURBO MODE: Press and maintain pressed the TURBO button, and then press the buttons with the TURBO function already assigned in order to deactivate it from
these buttons. Now you can release the TURBO button.
Important: The TURBO function is automatically deactivated in all buttons when the controller is powered off or the battery pack life has been exhausted completely.
6. LOW POWER BATTERY INDICATOR
When the power energy level from the battery pack is low, one of the LED indicators from the player number will flash slowly indicating that you must charge it (check section 4).
7. AUTOMATIC POWER OFF FUNCTION
In order to power off the controller automatically, press the HOME button for 8 seconds approx. (until all the LEDs in the controller are turned off) and then the controller will power off.
In order to power it on again, just press the HOME button for a few seconds until the controller is linked again with the system.
8. CONTROLLER UPDATE FUNCTION
If you update the firmware from your PS3™ system and you see that the controller stopped functioning or is not working properly, you must update the controller to be compatible with
that new firmware from your PS3™ system.
To do that, visit the website www.ardistel.com and you will be able to download the controller update matching the firmware version installed in your system. Together with the update,
an instructions manual will be included with the correct steps to update the controller.
Keep in mind that the update software is only compatible with Windows® XP, Windows® Vista and Windows® 7 (not compatible at the moment with 64bits versions of these operating
systems, check the mentioned website regularly for some updates about compatibility).
9. WARNINGS AND SAFETY MEASURES
In order to make sure that the controller works properly, please follow the instructions below strictly and do not misuse the product, keeping in mind the following warnings:
9.1. General Warnings
• If you cannot link the controller, turn it off. Just press and hold HOME button on the controller while you are in the PS3™ main menu, an Options menu will pop up. Select "Turn Off
Controller" and confirm. Connect again the USB cable to the controller and to the system, and press the HOME button to re-link it again.
• Check that the energy level from the battery pack is enough. A low level may cause anomalous functioning in the controller.
• Do not throw any of these devices into water, fire or drop them.
• Keep the devices away in a dry and safe place. Do not expose to direct sun light.
• Do not use the device or expose the device/battery pack to high or low temperatures (extreme hot/cold conditions or high levels of moisture). Not paying attention to this warning may
damage the product and/or the battery pack.
• Keep the controller and its components in a safe and clean place. Quick oscillations or dropping the controller into hard surfaces may damage the device and/or its components.
• For product general cleaning, take out the battery pack cover off the back of the controller and remove the battery pack and never use chemical products. Carefully wipe the controller
with a damp & clean cloth. Avoid putting a lot of pressure on the buttons or the surface of the controller as you may scrape the "Soft touch" coating or damage it.
• Do not let the controller powered on when you are not using it. Just press and hold HOME button on the controller while you are in the PS3™ main menu, an Options menu will pop
up. Select "Turn Off Controller" and confirm, or just use the automatic power off function (see section 7).
• Use the product properly and following strictly these instructions.
• Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the device or its components. There are no serviceable parts inside. Changes or modifications not approved by Ardistel will avoid the user
warranty. Only Ardistel qualified personnel can repair or replace the product and its components.
• Please, keep the device and its components away from children. Children must be ALWAYS under adult supervision.
• This product is ONLY for HOME INDOOR use only. Recycle it into electronic devices waste, not into domestic waste.
9.2. Battery Pack Warnings
• The Black Fire® Bluetooth® for PS3™ controller works ONLY with the battery pack LI-ON 3.7V/800mAh included.
• Do not use the battery if it appears to be damaged or leaking, showing discoloration, shape or any other changes.
• If battery leakage occurs avoid contact with skin, cloths, wipe off any deposit and install new batteries (only authorized Ardistel serviceable parts). If contact occurs, immediately wash
thoroughly and check with a doctor.
• Do no use unauthorized chargers (USB Chargers, Car charger, AC Chargers, etc.). Charge the battery pack included following the instructions given at section 4 of this manual.
• Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
• Unplug the USB-mini USB cable from the controller when the charging process is finish.
• If you are not going to use the product for a long time turn off the controller and remove the battery. Keep the battery in a dry and safe place, away from liquids, dust and dirt; do not
expose it to direct sun light, extreme temperatures (heat or cold) or air moisture fluctuations.
• Do not throw the battery into water or fire.
• Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the device or its components. There are no serviceable parts inside. Changes or modifications not approved by Ardistel will avoid the user
warranty.
• Please, keep the device and its components away from children. Children must be ALWAYS under adult supervision. Only adults can install and charge the battery.
• Make sure you keep the battery pack in a safe place, clean and dry, away from liquids, dust and dirty. Do not expose it to extreme weather conditions (heat and cold) or extreme
fluctuations in air moisture.
• This product is ONLY for HOME INDOOR use only. Recycle it accordingly, not into domestic waste.
10.1. The controller does not work
• Make sure the battery is installed correctly.
• Check that the energy level from the battery pack is enough and re-charge it if the level is too low.
10.2. The controller does not work properly
• Check that the energy level from the battery pack is enough. A low level may cause anomalous functioning in the controller.
• Make sure you have not activated the Turbo function. Turn off your controller to deactivate it (see section 5 of this manual).
10.3. The vibration does not work
• Check to see whether the game you're playing supports vibration. Turn on the vibration function in the XMB® menu, if necessary. This option is in "Settings," then "Accessory Settings,"
then "Controller Vibration Function."
• Enable vibration in the game you're playing. This is usually listed in the "Options" or "Settings" section of the main menu of the game.
• Refer to your specific game's manual for details.
10.4. The control turns on but the PS3™ does not recognize it.
• If you have recently upgraded the firmware of your console you may need to update your controller (see section 8 of this manual) and link it back to your console (see Section 3 of this
manual).
• Check that the controller is correctly linked to the console. If not, repeat the steps described in section 3 of this manual.
10.5. The 6-axis function does not work with my game.
• Check to see whether the game you're playing supports the 6-axis function.
10.6. The controller is detected and is operating normally in the menus but does not work in game play in any way.
• Make sure that the controller is the main controller or the player number assigned is the number 1. The LED of your controller will show you the player number or you can check it
pressing the HOME button of the controller. On the menu that appears on screen, select "Controller Settings" and then select "Reassign the Controller". You can then check and if
necessary choose which controller port the controller has been assigned to. Select "1" as your port and save the settings. When you return to the game, your controller should be able
to play without issue.
10.7. With the system turned on, the controller is not responding.
• If the controller is not responding due to any unusual situation (several times of system restart and/or re-linking the controller many times, for example), please turn off the controller
and the system completely, and then turn them on again.
