Cooking Safety Information
Please read these warnings in their entirety and
retain them for future reference.
Always wash your hands before and after handling uncooked meat and before eating.
Always keep raw meat away from cooked meat and other foods.
Always ensure tools are clean and free of old food residues before cooking.
Always ensure all meat is cooked thoroughly before eating.
Do not use the same utensils to handle cooked and uncooked meats.
Caution – eating raw or under cooked meat can cause food poisoning
To reduce the risk of under-cooked meat, cut open to ensure it is cooked all the way through.
Caution – if meat has been cooked sufficiently the meat juices should be clear and there should be no
traces of pink/red juice or meat colouring.
Pre-cooking large pieces of meat and joints is recommended before finally cooking in your BBQ pizza
oven.
After cooking always clean any utensils you have used.
Before cooking commences any foods that contain or are coated in fats, oil, or butter should not
contact the BBQ Pizza Oven cooking chamber directly as the stone will absorb any fats, oils and
butters and can cause staining, odours, smoking and could corrupt the flavour of any future items
cooked. Instead these items should be placed on to a metal baking sheet, metal pan or a cast iron
skillet.

Cooking Instructions

1.
To achieve the desired temperature range for cooking food in your BBQ Pizza Oven, adjust the
burner settings on your gas barbecue, or adjust vents if using a charcoal grill. Please note heating
times may vary depending on your barbecue, for best results the temperature dial should read in the
'Ideal' zone.
2.
Use around 2 tbsp flour to dust a wooden pizza peel and disperse over the surface evenly. Remove
any excess flour.
3.
Once rolled out, place your dough on to the floured wooden peel. Make your pizza using your
selected sauces and toppings. Be careful not to spill the sauces or toppings onto the peel as this
may cause your dough to stick to it.
4.
Place your wooden peel mid-way into the pizza oven, use a quick back and forth motion whilst
removing the peel to place the pizza inside. Please remember the cooking chamber will be very hot
and failure to use a pizza peel to place the pizza inside could cause serious injury.
5.
Once inside the cooking chamber your pizza will begin to cook. The BBQ Pizza oven is hotter at the
back, so you will need to rotate the pizza every 20-30 seconds to help achieve an even bake.
6.
Once satisfied that the pizza is cooked to your requirements (approx. 3-5 minutes depending on
your barbecue and thickness of your dough) you can remove it using a metal pizza peel.
