Unplug the heater before moving it. Never pull the
cable to unplug or move the unit.
Do not leave the heater unattended when operating.
Never use the appliance with wet hands or when either
the heater or the power cable is wet.
5.1. Start-up
Fill tank with clean fuel. Only use Diesel or Kerosene.
Recommended fuels and fuel blends for operation at low
temperatures
Ambient temperature
Recommended fuel or fuel blend
Below -15°C
100% Kerosene
Between -15°C and
70% Diesel
-4°C
30% Kerosene
Above -4°C
Winter Diesel
JAZ 10/20: the sightglass on the tank side allows to see when
the fuel level is getting low (see Fig. 4)
JAZ 30/40: the fuel gauge on top of the tank allows to see the
fuel level during fueling and operation (see Fig. 5)

Before fueling, make sure that the heater is off,
unplugged and cool and that any open flame has been
extinguished. After fueling, check and remove any fuel
leaks or residuals.
Do not store fuel in the heated area.

power cord inlet
To start the heater (see Fig.6)
Insert power cord into power inlet (5) on heater and push until a
click is heard. Connect the power cord plug to a 230 V 50 Hz
earthed electrical supply system. If extension cords are used,
they must be approved, earthed, and correctly sized (see
heater data plate)
EARTHING IS MANDATORY!
Turn the room thermostat dial (1) to maximum. Turn ON/OFF
switch (3) to I position. The heater starts and the mode
indicator light (2) turns green FIXED.
NOTE: on JAZ 60 D the fan starts first and the flame lights up
after approximately 8 second (pre-purge time).
COLD START-UP: should ignition be difficult, at low
temperature, keep the air vent hole (see Fig. 12) closed by a
finger at start to make ignition easier during start-up.
CONTINUOUS OPERATION: keep the thermostat dial on the
"maximum" position. This way the heater will work continuously
not depending on the ambient temperature.
CYCLIC OPERATION: start the heater as described above. As
the desired room temperature has been reached, turn the
thermostat dial (1) back until the heater stop and leave it in that
position. This way the heater will cycle on and off to maintain
the desired room temperature. When the heater stops under
the control of the room thermostat the indicator LED starts
FLASHING SLOWLY (1 flash every 4 seconds approx.,
STAND-BY MODE).
WHEN PLUGGED IN, THE HEATER MAY START AT
ANYTIME ON THERMOSTAT INPUT. KEEP PERSONS,
ANIMALS AND THINGS AWAY FROM HOT AIR OUTLET
AREA!
ABNORMAL OPERATION: in case of malfunctions (flame
failure, reduced air flow, bad combustion, etc.) the heater stops
and the indicator light starts FLASHING QUICKLY (LOCK-OUT
MODE, 4 flashes per seond approx.).
In case of difficult ignition, do not repeat the ignition
too many times to prevent excessive fuel accumulation in
the combustion chamber. Remove excess fuel or call
technical service.
5.2 Manual reset
If the heater stops during operation and goes to lock-
out mode, check and correct the cause(s) of lock-out
before
restarting
troubleshooting guide.
To reset, turn the ON/OFF switch to 0 and then again to I. In
case of repeated malfunctions, call technical service.
Note 1: turning the thermostat dial will NOT reset the heater.
Note 2: in case of POWER FAILURE and subsequent power
restoration during operation, it is necessary to follow the
manual reset procedure to restart the heater.
