Milling unit BF 2
Before using the product, please read these instructions for use carefully.
The manufacturer will not accept any liability for damage resulting from non-compliance with these
instructions for use.
1. Intended use
The milling unit BF 2 is intended to be used in the dental laboratory. It features a three-dimensional milling
arm which - as a surveyor - can be used for milling and drilling. This unit is suitable for processing materials
that are common in dental laboratories, such as waxes, resins and metals.
2. General information
2.1 Check if voltage/power supply data are in accordance with the data on the typeplate (5.21).
2.2 The milling unit BF 2 is not intended to be used in an environment exposed to explosion hazard.
2.3 When using this unit, the relevant provisions of the trade association must be adhered to (working
clothes and safety goggles must always be worn).
2.4 The milling unit must not be cleaned with compressed air.
2.5 To maintain the precision and extend the service life of the chuck, a tool resp. the enclosed pin must
always be clamped in (even if the unit is idle).
Please note:
- when using rotary instruments, the limits provided by the manufacturer of the instruments must be
adhered to
- repair or any intervening measures may exclusively be carried out by bredent
- bredent will not accept any liability if the milling unit BF1 had not been used in accordance with these
operating instructions
3. Installation of the unit
3.1 The unit must be placed on a level surface at working height. Safe standing must be ensured!
3.2 Provide sufficient space to move the milling arm freely.
4. Assembly of the unit
The milling unit needs to be assembled before it is used for the first time. For this purpose an Allen key has
been enclosed to the unit.
4.1 Screw the micrometer screw (5.4) with the Allen key (4.4) and the
Allen screw to the intended position using the fork wrench.
4.2 Slide the milling spindle (4.5) into the respective locating
device and tighten it with the locking screw (5.6).
4.3 The cable of the milling spindle is fed through the
cable duct (5.8) and connected to the 3-pole socket
(5.24) at the rear of the control unit and screwed on.
