Place the pole in a suitable place.

Pull out the foot pedal.

Open the quick release.

Slide the inner tube up until the top plate reaches
the ceiling, while the bottom plate remains in
contact with the floor.
Make sure the pole is vertical.

Rotate the inner tube clockwise so that the inner
tube is locked in place with the outer tube.
