Before beginning installation, remove the left and right frame brackets from the ends of the receiver assembly. Save the 1/2"
fasteners for later re-use.
1. Remove the two bumper bracket attachment bolts from the right side frame attachment points. Loosen, but do not remove the
two bumper to bumper bracket attachment bolts. This will allow the bumper bracket to move away from the truck side frame
slightly. Support the bumper so that it doesn't drop down excessively. Pull the bumper and bracket assembly rearward slightly
and move the bumper bracket outward and away from vehicle frame. Be careful that the license plate light wire doesn't get
pulled loose.
2. Place the right hitch frame bracket #3 up between the bumper bracket and truck side frame. Be sure that the bumper bracket
tab slips through the slot in the hitch frame bracket. Place one of the angle brackets #4, inside the truck frame with the long side
up against the side of the truck frame, as shown on Illustration 1.
3. Push bumper bracket and hitch frame bracket back into place against vehicle frame. Be sure that the tab on the bumper
bracket hooks over the side of the vehicle frame. Loosely bolt the bumper bracket, hitch frame bracket and angle bracket
in place on the truck frame. Only one hole will be used on each leg of the angle bracket. Use a 12mm fine threaded hex
bolt # 9 at the forward attachment hole. It will thread into a weldnut inside the truck frame. Use a 1/2" bolt #8 at the other
two attachment points. See Illustration 1.
4. Repeat Steps 1 through 3 on left side of truck.
5. Attach the lower leg of each angle bracket #4 to the lower surface of truck frame and tab on hitch frame bracket as shown on
Illustration 1. Only one hole in each bracket is used for attachment.
6. Position the hitch assembly #1 up between the previously installed hitch frame brackets and bolt securely in place as shown on
illustration 2. Use the 1/2" bolts #10 removed from hitch assembly at the beginning of the hitch installation. Use the 1/2" flange
nuts #5 from the hardware package.
7. Tighten all 1/2" and 12mm fasteners to 75 ft. lbs. torque. Failure to tighten bolts as described may result in fastener loss or
failure.
