condition which can occur while using your Reformer.
STOTT PILATES makes no representation about the
safe use of the Reformer under all conditions. There
are risks associated with the use of any exercise
equipment which cannot be predicted or avoided,
and you assume the responsibility for that risk.
STOTT PILATES recommends cautious assembly and
usage and wishes you many hours of safe and
effective exercise.
User's Guidelines
The STOTT PILATES SPX
piece of Pilates equipment that, when used properly,
can facilitate many Pilates exercises safely and
effectively. However, care and caution must be taken
as there are some inherent dangers when using
any exercise equipment – especially when spring
resistance is involved.
For inexperienced or first-time users,
the STOTT PILATES SPX Reformer should
only be used under the supervision
of a trained professional.
This STOTT PILATES SPX Reformer Owner's Manual
includes general guidelines for setup and usage.

offers a full range of instructional DVDs and Manuals.

Safety Check
Proper maintenance and timely replacement
of your equipment or component parts is
your responsibility. Conduct a regular
inspection of the following:
Daily:
Check wear on ropes, replace as needed.
Q
Clean rails with damp soft cloth.
Q
Ensure shoulder rests are fully seated on carriage
Q
Clean all upholstery areas after each use, using a
Q
soft cloth and gentle cleanser.
Weekly:
Ensure that all nuts, bolts and screws are secure
Q
and tight.
Ensure plastic feet are securely attached and have
Q
the flat side facing towards the floor.
Ensure footbar is level and not spinning.
Q
Ensure swing arm supports are securely fastened.
Q
Inspect and confirm pulleybar star knobs are
Q
securely tightened.
Ensure eyehooks are aligned parallel to the rails.
Q
Inspect rollers for excessive wear, replace as needed.
Q
Sit on carriage and test roll, listen for any thumping
Q
or grinding – it should be a quiet ride.
Check all springs for wear and damage,
Q
replace immediately as needed.
Monthly:
Check rope wear and replace as necessary.

Check that spring bolts and spring balls are
Q
securely fastened.
Check all spring clips to ensure proper fastening.
Q
Check star knobs for wear and replace as necessary.
Q
Check strap wear and replace as necessary.
Q
Yearly:
Replace all spring clips

Every 2 years:
Replace all springs

for initial assembly instructions and part labeling.
FAILURE TO PERFORM RECOMMENDED SAFETY
