1.5 Maintenance and care

A damp cloth is sufficient for cleaning the
casing. Never use scouring or solvent-based
cleaning agents.

Only ask qualiÀ ed contractors to
carry out maintenance.
z Before any work on the equipment,
disconnect all poles from the mains.
z Check the protective anode (3) after the
first two years and replace, if required.
After a replacement the contractor will
determine the interval for further checks.
z Replace the flange gasket (4).
z Descale the flange only after its removal.
Never treat the casing and the protective
anode with descaling agents.

z Always maintain the stipulated dimensions
when replacing the controller or the high
limit safety cut-out.
z Check the safety assembly regularly.
Draining the cylinder

The equipment is drained via the safety
assembly or via the drain (8) at the heating
flange.
z Close the shut-off valve in the cold water
supply.
z Fully open the hot taps at all draw-off
points.
z Open the rotary cap of the safety valve
(13) anti-clockwise towards "Checking" or
open the drain valve.
The high limit safety cut-out can
respond at temperatures below
–15 ºC.
Hot water can be expelled during draining.
