9 Assembly Instructions

The instructions in this section are for practitioner use only.
Use appropriate health and safety equipment at all times including extraction facilities.
Be aware of finger trap hazard at all times.
9.1

Fitting/Replacing Buffer and Stop Pad

9.1.1 Fitting/Replacing Buffer
1. Unscrew pyramid screw and remove pyramid screw, pyramid and dome.
2. Remove completely any existing buffer from 'C'-shaped recess on underside of dome.
3. Degrease mating surfaces of the 'C'-shaped recess and new buffer.
4. Apply Loctite 424 adhesive to the mating surfaces and bond new buffer into the recess.
5. When the bond has set, refit dome, pyramid and pyramid screw.
6. Tighten pyramid screw to 20 Nm.

Fitting/Replacing Stop Pad
1. Unscrew pyramid screw and remove pyramid screw, pyramid and dome.
2. Remove completely any worn stop pad from the square recess on underside of dome.
3. Lightly abrade and degrease mating surfaces of the new stop pad and square recess.
4. Apply Loctite 424 adhesive to the mating surfaces and bond new stop pad into the recess.
5. When the bond has set, refit dome, pyramid and pyramid screw, and apply a smear of PTFE-
loaded grease between stop pad and carrier assembly.
6. Tighten pyramid screw to 20 Nm.
