Angle drilling and screwdriving attachment 31 078

Operating Instructions
The angle drilling and screwdriving
attachment facilitates drilling and
turning screws in and out at awkward
positions by means of a rotary drill. Its
mitre gear has a multiplication ratio of
1:1. This means that the device's
spindle rotates at the same speed as
the drill spindle of the driving unit.
Fitting to driving unit
The angle drilling and screwdriving
attachment can be fitted to power drills
with a 43 mm diameter collar and a
1/2" x –20 UNF thread.
First, the SW 19 / 1/2" x –20 UNF
hexagonal nut must be screwed tightly
onto the spindle and secured against
the possibility of working loose during
operation with left-hand rotation using
the countersunk screw supplied
(left-hand thread).
The speed of the driving unit must not
exceed 3500 rpm.
After removing the drill chuck from the
driving unit, push the angle drilling and
screwdriving attachment onto the tool's
collar so that the hexagon flats of the
nut engage in the double hexagonal
recess of the angle drilling and
screwdriving attachment's driving bush.
Then secure the device to the tool's
collar by means of its hexagonal
socket-head screw (use the SW 5
4
angle screwdriver supplied). Turn the
screw firmly home into position.
Drill chucks
Drill chucks with an internal 1/2" x –20
UNF thread can be screwed onto the
spindle of the angle drilling and
screwdriving attachment.
On Metabo rotary drills and impact drills
for right and left-hand rotation, the
geared chuck is secured against the
possibility of working loose by means of
a screw with a left-hand thread. With
this screw (or the screw supplied with
the angle drilling and screwdriving
attachment), the geared chuck can also
be secured against the possibility of
working loose on the spindle of the
angle drilling and screwdriving
attachment during left-hand rotation. To
tighten the screw, open the chuck far
enough to allow a screwdriver to be
inserted into it. Turn the screw in
through the hole in the body of the
chuck counter-clockwise, continuing
through into the threaded hole tapped
in the spindle.
Keyless chucks (Futuro, Futuro Top,
Top) cannot be secured from working
loose with a screw. For left-hand
rotational use, they must be screwed
firmly onto the spindle thread of the
angle drilling and screwdriving
attachment.
