them. If chemicals in the battery come
into contact with the eyes, wash them
immediately with clean water for at least 15
minutes. Seek medical care immediately.
If the outer seal breaks and chemicals in the
battery come into contact with the skin: wash
immediately with soap and water, neutralise
with lemon juice, vinegar or other mild acids.
f) Stop using the battery if it produces
unusual smells, becomes hot or changes
colour/shape and looks abnormal.
If the battery pack cracks or
breaks, with or without chemical
leakage, do not recharge or use it.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR IT!
In order to avoid accidents and risks of
fire, explosion or electric shock and to
prevent damage to the environment:
Cover the battery terminals
with strong adhesive tape.
DO NOT attempt to remove or destroy
any part of the battery pack.
DO NOT attempt to open the battery pack.
Dispose of and replace it with
a new battery pack.
g) When battery pack is not in use, keep it away
from other metal objects, like paper clips,
coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal
objects, that can make a connection from
one terminal to another. Shorting the battery
terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
h) Do not expose the battery to fresh or salt water.
i) Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire or
excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or
temperature above 130 °C may cause explosion.
Always keep it at a normal room temperature.
j) The cells in the battery pack may leak if used
too much or at extreme temperatures.
k) Do not attempt to short-circuit the battery pack
terminals. Do not switch the negative and positive
battery terminals. Do not connect the positive and
negative terminals of the battery to metal objects.
l) When transporting accumulators, make sure the
contacts never come into contact with each other
and never use metal containers to transport them.
m) Do not disassemble the battery.
n) Do not hit, tap or stand on the battery.
o) Never service damaged battery packs. Service
of battery packs should only be performed by the
manufacturer or authorized service providers.
2.2

BATTERY CHARGER

The charger is designed for rechargeable
lithium-ion batteries. Do not charge non-
rechargeable batteries. Some other types
of batteries may explode, resulting in
personal injury and property damage.
a) Recharge only with the charger specified by
the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for
one type of battery pack may create a risk of
fire when used with another battery pack.
b) Do not recharge the battery pack
in rain or humid conditions.
c) Do not immerse the tool, battery pack
or charger in water or other liquids.
d) Do not allow liquid to get inside the charger.
e) The charger shall not be exposed to dripping
or splashing, and no liquid container, such as
pots, shall be placed above the charger.
f) Never use the battery charger in environments in
the presence of vapours, flammable substances
or on easily flammable surfaces such as
paper, fabric, etc. The battery charger heats
up during recharging and may cause a fire.
g) Do not let the battery pack or charger overheat.
If they are hot, let them cool down before use.
h) Charge only at room temperature, between
0° + 45°C. Do not charge the battery pack or
tool outside the specified temperature range.
Charging improperly or at temperatures
outside the specified range may damage
the battery and increase the risk of fire.
i) Do not probe the charger with conductive materials.
j) Do not use the charger for other purposes
than those specified in this manual.
k) Do not cover the ventilation grids on the top
of the charger. Do not place the charger on a
soft surface such as a blanket or pillow. Keep
the ventilation grids of the charger clean.
l) Prevent small metal objects or materials such as
steel wool, aluminium foil, or other extraneous
particles from entering the charger cavities.
m) Do not attempt to connect two
chargers at the same time.
n) Before use, check that the output voltage
and current of the battery charger are
suitable for charging the battery pack.
o) If the output polarity does not match the
charging polarity, Do not use the charger.
p) Do not open the cover under any
circumstances. If the cover is damaged,
the charger can no longer be used.
q) The charger external flexible cable cannot
be replaced; if the cable is damaged, the
whole charger must be disposed of.
r) The line voltage can be disconnected
by pulling the mains socket.
s) Before using the charger, check the
available voltage in each country.
t) Do not mount the charger on the wall.
Place it on a flat, solid surface.
2.3
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
AND DISPOSAL
The following toxic and corrosive materials are
found within the battery pack used with this
tool: Lithium-ion is a toxic material.
All toxic materials should be disposed of
properly to prevent environmental contamination.
Before disposing of damaged or broken lithium-ion
battery packs, contact your local waste disposal
agency or the local Environmental Protection
Agency for specific information and instructions.
