II USE
•
The 1S163 valve is intended for use in lower limb prosthesis only. Any other use is not permitted.
•
The 1S163 valve is designed to allow air expulsion by means of two different modes during prosthesis donning (see chapter IV
to switch from one mode to the other)
-automatic
-manual (by pressing the button)
•
To remove the prosthesis, press the button to allow air to flow in.
•
The removable body valve of the 1S163 valve allows the passage of an assisting system for prosthesis donning
(see chapter VII, fig. E).
III INDICATIONS / CONTRA-INDICATIONS
No contra-indication for using the 1S163 valve in a lower limb prosthesis, whatever the patient weight and activity level.
IV MANUAL / AUTOMATIC FUNCTION FOR AIR EXPULSION
The 1S163 valve is designed to allow air explusion, either automatically or manually. The selected function is determined by the
position of the inner membrane in the valve body. The 1S163 valve is factory set in the "AUTOMATIC EXPULSION" position.
To switch from one position to the other, follow the instructions below:
AUTOMATIC EXPULSION => MANUAL EXPULSION
A Unscrew the plug (1a) and remove it from the valve
body (2a)
(use of the tool : see chapter VI fig. 3)
B Carefully remove the membrane (3a) with a non-cutting
tool.
C Mount the membrane (3a) according to the diagram.
D Place the plug (1a) again (use of the tool : see chap-
ter VI fig. 3). Press the flap (4a) to allow air to flow out.
MANUAL EXPULSION => AUTOMATIC EXPULSION
A Unscrew the plug (1a) and remove it from the valve
body (2a) (use of the tool : see chapter VI fig. 3).
B Carefully remove the membrane (3a) with a non-cutting
tool.
C Mount the membrane (3a) according to the diagram.
D Place the plug (1a) again (use of the tool : see chapter
VI fig. 3). Press the flap (4a) to allow air to flow out.
