3. INSTALLING THE EQUIPMENT
• Two lifting rings on the top of the tank enable it to be lifted into place. Do not use the
tappings to lift the tank, as this will damage the interior coating.
• Place the tank and its safety unit (and/or safety valve) in a frost-free place.
• Position it as near as possible to the most-used taps.
• If it is placed outside occupied areas, insulate the pipework. If the device needs
to be installed in a location where the ambient temperature is always above 35°C,
ensure the space is ventilated.
• Ensure that the supporting structure is strong enough to take the weight of the tank
when it is fi lled with water.
• Allow a minimum of 1 metre in front of the fl ange (or manhole) for regular maintenance
of the tank. Suffi cient space should also be left above the tank for inspecting the
magnesium anode – see the anode instructions.
• Fit a retention tank with a drain beneath the tank if it is located in a loft or above premises
in use.
• The safety unit and/or safety valve must be accessible.
• A drain connection must be provided equipped with a funnel.
• The lower tapping allows the tank to be drained fully.
• The tank only operates in the vertical position.
Three risers are provided to assist in connecting the drain:
