OPERATIONS
ATTACHING EXTENSION CORD
The unit has an extension cord retainer built into the back of the housing that will
help keep the extension cord from becoming unplugged from the unit during use.
To use the cord retainer, create a loop of the extension cord and feed it through the
slot in the housing. See Figure 1. The extension cord loop should hook over the
tab on the housing.
Pull on the extension cord loop so that it tightens around the hook with the cord
pinched against itself in the housing slot as in Figure 2.
Once the cord is retained in the handle, plug the receptacle end of the cord into the
pigtail cord of the trimmer. For additional cord retention security, you may tie the
pig-tail and extension cord into a knot. See Figure 3 below.

TURNING THE TRIMMER ON
Once the unit is plugged in and you are ready to start trimming, simply push the
unit's safety trigger forward with your thumb while pulling up on the trigger (under
the handle) with your fingers. See Figure 4. The thumb safety switch is only for
starting the unit and can be released during trimming. To turn off the unit, re-
lease the trigger and the thumb switch will snap backward to prevent the trigger
switch from being accidentally depressed.
USING THE LOCK-ON FEATURE
The unit is equipped with a lock on button that allows the unit to run continuously
without holding the trigger. NOTE: It is recommended that this feature is only used
when cutting long rows of flat level hedges.
To utilize this feature, please do as follows:
With the unit running,
press the lock-on button in until it is flush with the unit's
housing and release the main trigger. See Figure 5. The lock-on button will stay
in and the unit will continue to run. You may need to adjust your grip to avoid
inadvertently disengaging the lock-on feature. To turn the lock-on feature off,
simply squeeze and release the trigger.
