Use
PLEASE NOTE!
■
Always check the working area – remove any objects that are in the way and
search through a hedge for hidden objects, e.g. wire fences, before cutting it.
■
Work in a calm and deliberate fashion – only work in good visibility and light
conditions.
■
Always hold the device by the handle and the extra grip. Always keep them dry,
clean and free of grease to ensure that the device can be held securely and fi rmly
during use.
■
If there is imminent danger or in an emergency, switch the device off immediately
and take out the battery.
■
Follow the country-specifi c or municipal regulations for cutting shrubs. Do not
cut during the quiet periods that generally apply.
1.
Familiarise yourself with all of the features and functions of the device.
2. Put on safety clothing and satisfy yourself that the area you are working in is clear of
any objects that may get in the way.
3. Remove the protective cover (7) from the blade.
4. Insert the battery (see the "Inserting / Detaching the Battery" chapter).
5. Adopt a stable posture and hold the device so that the blade (1) is always facing
away from your body.
6. Switch on the device by pressing the small On switch on the handle (4) and at the
same time pressing the large On switch on the extra grip (3) and holding down both
switches. The individual cutting edges of the blade will move.
7. Guide the blade at an even speed using the appropriate technique (see the following
section). Make sure that you do not hold the individual cutting edges too close to
rocks or similar materials.
8. As soon as you let go of one of the two On switches again, the device switches off.
9. If you take breaks and after fi nishing work, take the battery out of the device and
place on the protective cover.
Technique
•
Vertical cut: Guide the device in an arc from the bottom upwards along the hedge,
move one step forward and repeat this process (Picture B1).
Overhead working positions should only be adopted for brief periods of time as
i
they are tiring.
•
Horizontal cut: Place the device at an angle of 0° to 10° and guide it horizontally
over the hedge (Picture B2). Change the angle of the device at the edge of the shrub
in a crescent shape.
