TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem
Possible cause
Lack of electric power
The motor is
Rotor jammed
not turning
Motor problems
The motor
turns slowly
Low voltage in the electric power line
when
starting
Low level in the suction tank
Foot valve blocked
Filter clogged
Excessive suction pressure
High loss of head in the delivery circuit
(working with the by-pass open)
By-pass valve blocked
Air entering the pump or the
Low or no
suction tubing
flow rate
A narrowing in the suction tubing
Low rotation speed
The suction tubing is resting on the
bottom of the tank
Freezing of the pump or motor
Leaks in the pump outlet pipe
Failure to prime
Cavitation occurring
Increased
Irregular functioning of the by-pass
pump noise
Presence of air in the liquid
to be pumped
Leakage from
the pump
Pump damage
body
20 /64
Corrective action
Check the electrical connections and the
safety systems
Check for possible damage or obstruction
of the rotating components
Contact the Service Department
Bring the voltage back within the
anticipated limits
Refill the tank
Clean and/or replace the valve
Clean the filter or replace the cartridge
Lower the pump with respect to the level of the
tank or increase the cross-section of the tubing
Use shorter tubing or of greater diameter
Contact the Service Department
Check the seals of the connections
Use tubing suitable for working under
suction pressure
Check the voltage at the pump Adjust the
voltage and/or use cables of greater
cross-section
Modify tubing properly
Thaw the pump and check for damage
Starting a frozen pump can cause damage
to the motor and to the pump itself
Check the seal at the pipe's connections and
inspect the pipe for possible damage
Fill the suction hose with demineralised water
Reduce suction pressure
Dispense until the air is purged from the
by-pass system
Verify the suction connections
