INSTALLATION
Steam Clean control unit (10) with disinfectant
container (9)
Locate outside the steam room in a well-ventilated
cupboard, control room or similar. Connect terminal
block A1/B2 to 200-240 volt AC supply. Terminal block
A1/B2 must always be live for automatic washing
down to operate. Run control circuit between control
unit (10) and steam generator (13), connect to
terminal blocks marked P5/G6. Connect water supply
(preferably warm) to nipple D with 10mm copper tube.
In order to avoid water hammer the connection
between the copper tube and Steam Clean should
consist of about 1 metre of flexible reinforced rubber
hose.
IMPORTANT! Flush the pipework before connecting
Steam Clean to water supply.
SPRINKLER
Install in centre of the steam room ceiling. The
sprinkler's diffusion radius is about 1.5 metres. Larger
steam rooms require several sprinklers located to
wash down all the seating and wall areas. Connect
with 10mm copper tube to nipple A on the control unit
(10).
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Fill the container (9) with disinfectant diluted with water
as directed on the pack.
WARNING! Only use cleaning agents which are not
dangerous to health and non-inflammable. To avoid
damage to automatic controls, hoses etc. use only
Tylö disinfectant.
Automatic washing down
Set the switch on control unit (10) to the "Automatic"
position, and the warning light goes on. The switch
can always remain in this position. About 1 hour after
the steam generator has been turned off and the bath
is finished, a water shower of about 10 sec. starts as a
"warning" of the subsequent washing down with water
only which lasts for about 3 min.
Manual washing down
Shut off the steam generator at the control panel. The
switch on the control unit (10) should be in the
"Automatic" position. Press the "Manual" button. A
water shower of about 10 sec. then starts as a
"warning" of the subsequent washing down with water
only which lasts for about 3 min.
Disinfection (is always done manually)
Shut off the steam generator at the control panel.
Check that nobody is in the steam room. The switch on
the control unit (10) should be in the "Automatic"
position. Press "Manual". Keep the button depressed
(about 5 sec.) until the green light goes on. Release the
button, and the green light goes out. Press "Manual"
again. Keep the button depressed (about 5 sec.) until
the green light goes on. This repeated operation is a
coded instruction. After about 2 min. a water-only
shower (10 sec.) starts as a "warning". About 1 min.
after the "warning" shower a disinfectant washing down
starts, using the fluid in the container (9). This lasts for
about 1 min. After a period of about 4 min. for the
disinfectant to act, a washing down with water only
takes place for about 3 min.
WARNING !
The staff at the facility are responsible for ensuring
that nobody enters or remains in the steam room
while disinfection is in progress. The coded
instruction stated above, 2 x 5 sec. presses, is a
safety feature which should only be known to the
staff who run the facility. The subsequent 2 min.
wait is intended to give the staff time to check that
nobody enters or remains in the steam room while
disinfection is in progress.

FURTHER INFORMATION

− In public facilities it is vital that Steam Clean is
installed out of reach of the general public, for
example in a well-ventilated, locked room or
cupboard, so that no unauthorized person can alter
the switch, pour unsuitable liquids into the container
etc.
− WARNING! Liquids which are inflammable or
damaging to health must not be used.
− All hose connections and the lid must be tightly
secured. there is a risk that the apparatus will not
work.Otherwise
− NOTE! Some plastic floor and wall materials may
discolour on direct contact with certain disinfectants.
First test the disinfectant you intend to use on a
separate piece of the floor or wall material used in
the steamroom.
− Steam Clean is designed so that neither disinfection
nor washing down can take place while the steam
generator is producing steam. The switch on the
control unit (10) can therefore always remain in the
"Automatic" position.
− When Steam Clean is operating, the steamroom
door must be closed and nobody may remain in the
steam room.
− The steam room floor and floor drain must be
cleaned regularly. Steam Clean carries out washing
down and disinfection, and complements careful
manual cleaning to keep the steam bath hygienic
and fresh.
− Electrical installation must be carried out by a
qualified electrician.
− Flush all pipes before installation.
