2. INTRODUCTION
The Y35 is a hand operated hydraulic crimping tool that delivers 120 kN of force. The Y35 incorporates
a C-shaped, rotatable head for overhead line work and compression grounding applications. The hook
style head, with extensive ram travel, facilitates tapping and splicing of overhead lines. The head of the
Y35 can be rotated 180º relative to the fixed handle. The head must be rotated before advancing the
ram. The ram can be advanced without pumping the handle, simply rotate the fixed handle clock-wise.
The body and handles are insulated with neoprene to protect operator and tool against accidental
phase brush contact.
The Y35BH remote control head has the same technical features as the hydraulic crimping tool Y35.
The Y35-2 and Y35BH4 head are covered with neoprene to protect them against impacts.
