INSTALLATION
Visually check the integrity of the packaging.; in the event that any damage or
missing parts are noted, contact Harken
While the device has been designed and manufactured in conformance with the
Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive, correct installation is always
required in order to ensure that optimum device operation is not compromised.
In order to guarantee correct use, install the device in a dry location, providing for
the maximum possible separation between the different electrical and electronic
components, particularly those dedicated to navigation, within the limits of the
space available.
CAUTION! Install the device below decks in a dry position where it is
possible to check its status.
A wrong installation may jeopardize the function of the system and may
cause injury to persons and damage to property.
CAUTION! Install the device vertically as shown in figure.
N.B.:
Installation with DSS digital button:
- For less than 2 buttons, the decoder is not necessary (Fig. 1-2-3).
If the decoder is used for less than 2 buttons, refer to the installation
manual Dual Function Control Box available on the web site www.harken.
com.
- For 2 or more buttons, the decoder is necessary.
CAUTION! The layouts should be considered basic guidelines to follow
for installation of the device. We recommend testing the system onshore
before using the winch under load in order to correctly identify the
activation buttons for all winch speeds. In the event that the system does
not operate correctly, check that the wiring is correct; if the malfunction
continues, contact Harken
