5. Cleaning

The foot-switches may be cleaned with all common cleansing agents and
disinfectants used in hospitals.

6. Maintenance

In consideration of the following indications the BOWA MED foot-switches need
only minor maintenance. However according to ambient conditions and
application frequency we recommend a regular check or maintenance in
following steps:
1. Function test, check of actuating elements on proper work
2. Check of housing and connecting cable on damages and harmful dirt

7. Attention

1. The application of a foot-switch bearing the CE mark corresponding to the
Medical Devices Act does not exempt the marketer from proving again the
conformity as per Medical Devices Act (MDD 93/42/EEC) of the entire
system!
Despite careful production and inspection as well as redundant design of
important components, an entirely safe function at any time cannot be
guaranteed (in case of error a switching insert e. g. cannot switch off
properly or a spring may break).
The remaining risks have to be taken into consideration concerning the
evaluation of the entire system! With use of HALL sensors magnetic fields
can lead to an unwanted influence. Additionally magnetically leading
materials are to be kept away from the direct foot switch area!
2. In case of application of a shielded control cable the shield may not be
connected as protective conductor!
