1. Remove hitch access panel – Remove screws from lower edge of hitch access panel with a T15 torx.
2. Remove Fascia – Open the tailgate. Remove taillight cover by removing screw using a T15 torx, 1 each side. Use masking tape around the wheel well
areas and especially taillights to help prevent scratching the vehicle. Remove the screws that connect the wheel well liner fascia T15 torx, each side.
Remove the screw at the bottom of the fascia near the wheel well liner using T15 torx, each side. Starting at the bottom remove wheel well trim, at the
bottom is a tab to pull out first, using trim tools gently pry/pull back the wheel well trim, remove the screw that connects the fascia to the vehicle body,
located behind wheel well trim with a 7mm socket, 1 each side. Using a 7mm socket remove the screws from the bottom of the fascia near the hitch
access panel. Starting from the wheel well gently pull off fascia. Unplug any electrical connectors that are attached. Set fascia aside.
3. Remove bumper and lower exhaust– Remove M10 nuts with a 15mm socket from the top bumper attachments, 2 each side, set nuts aside for re-
attachment. Remove M10 bolts with a 15mm socket from the bottom bumper attachments, 2 each side. Lower the exhaust for clearance. Be sure to
support the vehicle exhaust system to prevent damage. Return the bumper to the vehicle owner.
4. Install hitch – Raise the hitch into position, aligning the slots in the hitch with the attachment holes in the vehicle frame. Using the supplied pull wires
install the supplied carriage bolts and spacers into the vehicle frame, install the conical washers (teeth side toward hitch) and nuts onto the carriage
bolts.
5. Re-install exhaust hangers – Raise exhaust hangers into position, install the bolts removed earlier and the nuts from the vehicle bumper may be re-
installed at this time or returned to the vehicle owner.
6. Torque fasteners - Tighten all ½" GR5 fasteners with torque wrench to 75Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M) and all M10 fasteners to 38Lb.-Ft. (52 N*M)
7. Re-install fascia - Reverse the process used in step 2 to re-install the fascia. Be sure to reconnect any plugs that were disconnected. The hitch
access panel may be replaced when hitch is not in use.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or
ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
