INSTALLATION
There are no dial adjustments on this control. It is only
necessary to locate the bulb properly.
The first cycle of the equipment may produce an ice bank
slightly thicker than desired. This will be corrected with
additional cycles of operation.
If the manufacturer of the cooling equipment has recom-
mended a location for the bulb, follow such recommenda-
tions. If none are offered, the following general rules can
be applied.
1. Mount the bulb in a horizontal position only. Mount-
ing the bulb in any other position is not recommended.
2. The capillary tubing should be routed so it is protected
from damage by blows, cuts, etc., and should be
installed without kinking or twisting.
3. The bulb must be located below the water level so it
will be completely imbedded in ice.
4. It should be located in a relatively secluded spot where
it will be safe from damage.
5. Do not locate the bulb near an inlet or outlet of the
evaporator because they may be colder or warmer
than the average evaporator temperature.
6. If there is an agitator or water circulator in the cabinet,
make sure that the bulb of the control is not in the path
of high velocity water.

All wiring must conform to local and national electrical codes and ordinances.
Connect in accordance with the wiring diagrams provided
by the equipment manufacturer. If none are provided, the
following represents a typical installation.

MOUNTING THE BULB:
1. The control is equipped with two adjustable copper
straps for mounting the bulb to the evaporator. The
length of the straps should be adjusted so that the
outer edge of the bulb is at a distance from the
evaporator that represents the desired thickness of
ice. For example: if an ice bank of two inches is
desired, the straps should be adjusted to hold the bulb
so that its outer edge is two inches away from the
evaporator.
2. If the temperature of the evaporator is very low (approx.
10°F) use only one strap. There may be too much
conduction through two mounting straps and the con-
trol may stop the compressor before the bulb is
completely covered with ice.
Do not put salt or other impurities in the water in the
cabinet because they lower the freezing point of the water.
The switch unit of the control should be located where it
will not be subjected to splashing water.
