Installation Instructions For CC-3, CC-4 and CC-5 Self Diagnostic
Units Emergency Lighting Fixtures
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
WHEN USING ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT, BASIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS SHOULD ALWAYS
BE OBSERVED INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING:

3. Do not mount near gas or electric heaters.
4. Equipment should be mounted in locations and at heights where it will not readily be subjected to tampering by unauthorized
personnel.
5. The use of accessory equipment not recommended by Sure-Lites may cause an unsafe condition.
6. Do not use this equipment for other than its intended purpose.
7. Some equipment covered by these instructions are rated for remote heads. This equipment does not require a load fuse because its
sophisticated solid-state transfer switch is current limited. Check load rating of equipment to calculate remote capability. DO NOT
exceed TOTAL OUTPUT RATING of equipment. TRANSFER CIRCUIT will automatically shut down if overloaded.

INSTALLATION
Step 1. De-energize the circuit at the junction box (J-box) where the exit sign is
to be installed.
Step 2. Extend unswitched 24 hour AC supply of rated voltage frorm the J-box.
Use the black, orange, and white extension leads and wire nuts provid-
ed. Determine the line voltage to be supplied to the exit and follow the
instructions in the table below.

Step 3. Thread the extension leads through the backplate wire pass hole and
securely mount the backplate to the J-box.
Step 4. Using the backplate clips route the extension leads to the appropriate
push-in connector per the schematic.
Step 5. Trim and strip (strip length .375) any excess wire allowing enough slack
to insert the stripped ends into the appropriate push-in connector.
Step 6. Insert the wires into the appropriate push-in connector.
Step 7. Adjust heads to the desired position.
Step 8. Connect the battery using the red and blue leads originating from the
circuit board. ( Red lead to the "+" terminal, blue to the "-").
Step 9. Snap the tether straps over the integral posts in the backplate.Rest the housing against the wall.
Step 10. Mate the plug assembly.
Step 11. Snap the housing onto the backplate.
Step 12. Adjust heads to the desired position.

  • Página 2 SURE-LITES OPERATION: The diagnostic LED indicator near the test switch indicates the status of the unit. If the unit is operating under battery power (either in the emergency mode or a battery capacity test) the indicator will turn off. When the unit is fully charged and in a float charge condition, the indicator will be on steady.

  • Página 4 SURE-LITES NOTA: Para una correcta operación, unidades con lámparas de emergencia y lámparas con señal de salida deben tener por lo menos 9 watts de carga en el circuito de emergencia. El equipo esta listo para operar al sacarlo de su envoltura original. No se requieren ajustes a no ser de que un cambio en su operación normal sea requerido.
