ENGINE DISASSEMBLY

Position the engine on a working bench and proceed as follows:
– Clean the area thoroughly.
– Disconnect the battery cables and remove the under seat
compartment.
– Remove the air fi lter box.
– Disconnect electric system wirings from engine.
– Remove the ignition coil assembly.
– Remove the manifold/throttle body assembly from the cylinder
head of the engine.
– Remove exhaust silencer assembly.
– Detach rear brake calliper from the engine.
– Remove all screws and bolts that fi x the engine to the frame.

Remove the original piston-cylinder assy as follows:
– Discharge the cooling circuit liquid.
– Remove radiator, water pump and thermostat assembly.
– Remove the tappets cover (no. 4 M6 screws) (Fig. 1).

– Position the crankshaft at the top dead centre in the compression
phase, align the references on camshaft sprocket (Fig. 2) with
