Installation and Operating Instructions

Product Description
The pulse adapter CPA 01 consists of a battery powered electronics
assembly in a polymere housing. The housing is potted and therewith
water tight. The pulses are provided to the connected electronics via
cable.

The pulse adapter converts the volume information from the Cordonel
flow meter into volume proportional pulses. Typical applications are:

Controlling processes of systems with pulse input
•
Transmission of pulses for the remote display of the meter index
•
Transmission of pulses for detailed data analysis with an external
data logger

Installation
5.1
Safety Information
The installation site of the CPA 01 must be clean and dry. Dirt and
humidity can impede a fault free pulse transmission. The electrical
connection must be performed by a briefed electrical specialist. Faulty

connection can lead to insury or death resp. can damage the CPA 01.
5.2
General Information
The CPA 01 has a strain relieve which can absorb up to 50 N.
5.3
Required Tools
For opening the pulse adapter cover at the Cordonel a screw driver
with a blade size 5 mm or any other suitable lever tool is required.
5.4
Orientations
The orientation of the CPA 01 is provided by the orientation
requirements of the Cordonel flow meter.
5.5
Installation advice
Clean the Cordonel flow meter in the area of the cover for the pulse
adapter CPA 01. Open the cover 1 for the CPA 01 and keep it safely.
Remove the blind plug from the Cordonel flow meter. Check the
correct fit of the O-ring at the CPA 01. Insert the CPA 01 with the round
side ahead into the interface of the Cordonel flow meter. Close the
interface with the cover by clicking it in. If necessary seal the cover
with an appropriate wire seal (wire-Ø < 1,9 mm).

Cable Extension
The cable can be extended by the user up to 90 metres.
Recommended cable quality is: PUR/FEP A4x24 AWG
Overvoltage and Overcurrent protection

Transient voltage protection is highly recommended for wiring
outside buildings.
8.
Parameterisation
The CPA 01 can provide different pulse values and pulse lengths.
The required values can be programmed in the Cordonel flow meter
by using a SIRT and the Diavaso Config app. The CPA 01 adopts the
values automatically.
The pulse length must always be adjusted to the max. expected flow
rate and the programmed pulse value.
The period of the high signal shall always be shorter than the period
of the low signal. The following table shows the longest suitable
pulse lengths in relation to the maximum expected flow and the pulse
value.

Standard operation

During standard operation, the CPA 01 outputs pulses according to the

is output with a latency of 1 second.
