Adjusting for different paper weights

EN When changing from one paper weight to another (i.e. 30
lb. (50 gr.) to 45 lb. (70 gr.) paper), this may cause either
nuisance feed jams or a slower feed jam response. In
either case, the feed jam sensitivity can be adjusted to
better operate with the new paper types.
1. Switch the main switch to the "OFF" or "O" position.
2. Place the EDS switch to the "OFF" or "O" position.
3. Adjust the EDS mode pad length control to the
maximum position (clockwise rotation).
4. Press and hold the Reset button.
5. While depressing the Reset button, put the main
switch to the "ON" or "I" position.

6. After holding the Reset button down for approximately
6 to 8 seconds, observe both the red and green lights
blink briefly, then release the Reset button.
7. Press the foot switch for 3 to 5 seconds to initiate paper
feed.
(NOTE: New paper weight material must be loaded
and able to flow through without hindrance to
perform this step.)
8. Release the foot switch.
9. Put the main switch to the "OFF" or "O" position.
10. Observe the green light on the control panel to be off.
11. Put the main switch to the "ON" or "I" position. The
green light will blink quickly to indicate the adjustment
is complete.
Adjusted feed jam sensitivity is available in either manual
or EDS operating modes.
