•
Start the hydraulic pump.
•
Dual-hose system: set the pressure relief valve to the "operation" position.
6.3
During use
The blades close quite quickly until they touch the material to be cut. Now the pump will build up the
required pressure and continue with the cutting movement.
Caution
Do not cut hardened fastenings, bolts, etc. because this can damage the blades.
WARNING
The tool is very powerful. It can cut off or pinch parts of the body.
•
Open the blades.
•
Place the cutter with opened blades perpendicular to the object to be cut (Fig. 10).
•
Place the object to be cut as deep as possible in the cutting opening (Fig. 11).
WARNING
Stop immediately if the blades separate. This could lead to serious damage to the tool and/or
serious injury.
•
Close the blades.
6.3.1
Change tools
To change a tool during use:
•
Disconnect the hoses from the tool in use. Refer to chapter 5.3.
•
Connect the hoses to the other tool. Refer to chapter 5.2.
6.4
After use
6.4.1
Shut down and disconnect
•
Close the blades to prevent injury. Do not close the cutter fully so that the tool can be stored without
pressure.
•
Set the pressure relief valve of the pump to the "neutral" position (only for dual-hose system).
•
Switch off the pump.
•
Disconnect the hydraulic hose(s) from the tool and the pump. Refer to chapter 5.3.
6.4.2
Inspection

and contact the Holmatro dealer.
•
Inspect the blades. If there is damage, consult the Holmatro dealer.
•
Check the operation of the deadman's button; it should return to the neutral position.
6.4.3
