- the mains must supply dehumidified and filtered air at max pressure not over
10 bar; .
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Preliminary checks
After having performed all connections check that:
- the plastic dust bag (17) is in the container (18);
- that the pressure gauge (4) indicates correct air pressure and there are no leaks;
- that electrical connections were performed correctly and the line indicator light
(Fig. 4 C) on the external panel is on;
- that all turbine panels are mounted correctly.
Shutdown turbine
To shut down the turbine, turn the knob (27) to OFF to switch the shut down the
machine and switch off the main switch (Fig. 4 D) on the external control panel
which also switches off the line indicator (Fig. 4 C).
When carrying out maintenance, lock the external control panel in the off position
using a padlock to prevent accidental start-up.
The key to the padlock must be kept by the person responsible for factory safety.
Setting the language of the DISPLAY menu
Press and hold button DISPLAY MENU for at least 5 seconds, after pressing the
main switch (20), to open the Language menu. To browse the available languages,
press the DISPLAY MENU button. After selecting the desired language, press
button FILTER CLEANING to set it. To exit from the Language menu, press
MANUAL-AUTOMATIC or power cycle the unit.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE

The machine is made up of 5 sections:
- suction section;
- filter section;
- electric section;
- pneumatic section;
- filter status display and indicator panel.
Suction section
It comprises a pump and a side channel with a high output. The pump is fitted with
a safety valve to limit the vacuum and with a temperature sensor that enables to
stop the turbine in case of anomalies or faults.
Filtering section
It comprises a single filter supplied in several lengths (4 m 2 for HE501) - (8 m 2
for HE901) - (8 m 2 for HE1101 - HE1501), in polyester and with a class M
resistance, in compliance with standard EN 60335-2-69, which is maintained in
good working order by back flushing system with revolving nozzles (16).
The dust particles which fall from the filter drop into a stainless steel container
(17) containing a strong RESY plastic bag (18) which facilitates the correct
disposal of the dust. The seal between the filter housings and the dust container
is ensured by a pneumatic opening/closing system connected to the dust
container door (17).
Electric section
An electronic command and control panel (5) with separated and appropriately
oversized components manages all the functions of the turbine, from automatic
remote start-up with delayed shut-down to periodic filter cleaning. All the electric
parts are protected by thermomagnetic switches and fuses.
Pneumatic section
Consists of a compressed air control filter (9) connected to a pressure gauge (4)
and an electro-valve (25) which controls the filter cleaning and a pneumatic
valve (26) which guarantees the closure of the dust container.
Filter status display and led indicator panel
RUPES turbines have a user interface with display that enables operators to view
parameters, diagnostic messages and operating conditions. (32)
By pressing several times button "DISPLAY MENU" (35), it is possible to display
in sequence the following information:
• Hours of operation of the pump (pumps 1 and 2 on model HE1501).
• Hours of usage of the filter
• Recommendations regarding the correct operation, usage and maintenance of
the turbine
The display automatically shows messages related to maintenance, operating
conditions and alarms.
A vacuum sensor is installed on the filter to detect filter status (fig. 0).
Leds light up in sequence to indicate that the filter is not sufficiently clean.

Connection to the electrical mains
After making sure the main switch (Fig. 4 D) is off:
Version 400 V - 50 Hz
- connect turbine cord 4 x 1.5 mm
breaker (HE501: 16amp. - HE901: 16Amp)and line light (Fig. 4 C).
Version 230 V - 60 Hz
- connect the turbine cord 4 x 2.5 mm
cuit breaker (HE501: 25Amp. - HE901: 32Apm.) and line light (Fig. 4 C).
The cord 2 x 1.5 mm
2
(Fig. 4 B) must be connected to the same electrical box
and connected to a HB or HF arm or EP3 unit with an electric or pneumatic tool
ignition system for remote starting. Ensuring grounding wire connections is very
important.
N.B.: Electrical connections materials are not standardly supplied and must be
provided by the general electric system installation technician.
These operations must be performed by a qualified electrician (according to
regulation CEI 64-8 in accordance with legal decree 46-90).
Connecting to the compressed air system
Assemble the pressure regulator (9), respecting the direction of the arrow, com-
plete with its pressure gauge (4).
The compressed air supply line (Ø 3/4") must be regulated through knob (9A) to
a maximum pressure of 6 bar (see pressure gauge 4). Carry out the adjustment
and lock knob (9A) by pushing it as far as it will go.
IMPORTANT: Only filtered dry air must be used.
This operation must be carried out by suitably qualified personnel.

MACHINE USE

Turn on the main switch (Fig. 4 D).
Manual mode
In manual mode, the turbine will operate continuously.
To interrupt the continuous operation, press button (33) to pass to AUTOMATIC
mode, or turn the knob (27) to OFF to switch the shut down the machine.
Automatic mode
In AUTOMATIC mode, the turbine is started by remote control.
This system must be connected to HB o HF arms or a EP3 power unit equipped
with an automatic turbine start-up system when electric or pneumatic tools are
switched-on.
When the tool is switched off, the turbine will continue to operate for 1 minute.
After 1 minute it will then shut-down and remain on stand-by waiting for the next
start-up.
Starting (400 V - 50 Hz model)
- Turn the knob (27) to ON to switch the turbine on, LEDS 28-29-30-31 will light-
up in sequence. LEDS 30-31 will then switch off automatically;
- LED 29 lights permanently to indicate that the turbine is in AUTOMATIC mode,
while LED 28 lights permanently to indicate that the turbine is powered;
- Select the operating mode (MANUAL or AUTOMATIC) by pressing button (33).
Start-up (version 230 V. - 60 Hz)
- Turn the knob (27) to ON to switch the turbine on, LEDs 28-29-30-31 light on
the electronic panel in sequence.
- Will then switch off automatically and LEDS 30-31 LED 29 lights permanently to
indicate that the turbine is in AUTOMATIC mode, while LED 28 lights perma-
nently to indicate that the turbine is powered;
- Select the operating mode (MANUAL or AUTOMATIC) by pressing button (33).
Checking the direction of rotation of the turbine motor
The pump has a tree-phase motor and is designed to rotate in both directions:
during the installation of the turbine and initial start-up, check that the air flow mat-
ches the direction shown on the adhesive arrows.
Otherwise, reconnect the power cord, inverting two phases.
