The users shall be very careful and shall adopt proper precautions to prevent any
reading errors.
Precautions for use
• When using this instrument, carefully follow the safety regulations and the
operating instructions.
• Carefully read all the operating instructions before operating the instrument,
and be very careful of the notes in bold.
• Carefully check the instrument and the measuring leads before use, to search
for any damage or anomaly. If any anomaly is detected (e.g. broken leads, worn
insulation, damaged casing etc.) do not try to take measurements.
• Do not let the instrument under direct sunlight, frost or high temperatures.
• During the measurements, take your fingers behind the barriers of the leads.
• Do not use the instrument to measure currents that may exceed the maximum
rated value.
• Do not apply voltage to the clamp's output cord.
• Do not measure currents if the clamp output is not connected to a digital
multimeter.
Maintenance
• Before opening the instrument, always disconnect it from any energized circuit.
• Never use the instrument if its back is not properly positioned and screwed.
• Never use solvents or abrasives on the instrument. To clean it, use a wet rug
and a mild detergent.
Front description
(Page 2)
1. Jaw for DC/AC, max. opening: 55 mm
2. Protective barrier
3. Lever to open the jaw
4. Reset potentiometer
Used in DC A to reset the display of the digital instrument used for the
measurement
5. Signal LED / instrument ON
6. OFF - ON switch, to select also AC/DC
7. Output cord
Direct current measurements (DC)
• Position the deviator (6) on the A DC function
• Connect the output cord to the instrument selected for the measurement,
according to the polarity of the signal
• Reset the read on the display with the potentiometer (4)
• Wind only one conductor and close the jaw
• Read on the instrument's display the value of the current being measured
Notes: a) the digit "1" on the display means that the value being measured exceeds
the capacity selected on the multimeter.
b) The " – " sign indicates the negative polarity of the current with respect
to the position of insertion of the clamp meter.
