Initial commissioning
4.1
Preparation
Using the enclosed self-adhesive hook & loop straps, it
is possible to fasten the adapter to a exposed, readily
accessible location on the alternator test bench.
i
Ensure that the location on the alternator test
bench is clean and grease-free. If necessary, clean
it beforehand with a commercially available, grease-
dissolving cleaning agent.
Fig. 3:
Fastening the hook & loop straps
1. Remove the protective backing from two hook &
loop straps and place them on the back of the test
adapter (fig. 3, items 1 and 2).
2. Press the other two hook & loop straps against the
hook & loop straps attached to the adapter.
3. Remove the protective backing from the two hook &
loop straps and fasten the test adapter to an expo-
sed, readily accessible location on the alternator
test bench. Apply pressure briefly to improve the
holding force.
4.2
Connecting the test adapter
Important information about connecting and using the
test adapter can be found in the separate ESI[tronic]
component repair manual for compact alternators in
the section "Incoming and outgoing test". It is essential
that these instructions be read carefully and observed
before using the test adapter.
