MAKING COFFEE WITH COFFEE BEANS
1. Lift the water reservoir from the coffee machine, fold open the cover and fill the reservoir under the tap with cold drinking
water up to the required level (2 to 10 cups = 0.25L to 1.25L). Do not fill the reservoir above the MAX 10 mark. Place the
reservoir back in the coffee machine.
2. Swing open the filter holder. Remove the ring-shaped cover of the filter holder. Place the permanent, washable filter
or a paper coffee filter (size 1x4) of which the edges have been folded back in the filter holder. This prevents the filter bag
from folding inwards and closing.
3. Place the ring-shaped cover back on the filter holder and fully swing back the filter holder, otherwise the glass jug will not
fit properly under the filter holder.
4. Place the glass jug on the hot plate by sliding it under the filter holder with drip stop, making sure the spout of the jug
is in the centre, facing the coffee machine.
5. Add coffee beans in the coffee bean holder on top of the coffee machine. The holder is able to hold maximum 120 grammes
of coffee beans, which is sufficient for 2 full jugs of coffee (20 cups of 6 grammes of coffee).
Warning: Make sure that no foreign objects can end up in the coffee bean holder. These might damage the appliance.
6. Insert the plug of the coffee machine in an earthed wall socket. If the plug is already in the socket, but the coffee machine
is switched off, briefly press the [START/STOP] button to activate the operating panel of the coffee machine.
7. Select the number of cups of coffee for which coffee beans should be ground by means of the rotary knob on the operating
panel at the front of the coffee machine (2 – 10 cups). Adjust this number to the amount of water poured in the water
reservoir.
8. Use the rotary knob on top of the coffee machine to select coarse or fine ground coffee. Turn the stripe to the large coffee
bean for coarse grind, or to the small coffee bean for fine grind.
9. Select the required coffee strength by pressing the [LIGHT] or [STRONG] button. This determines how quickly the water
passes through the coffee. At a low flow rate, the coffee has more time to acquire taste and this has an effect on the
strength of the coffee. If you wish, press the [STRONG] button for extra strong coffee. The indicator led at the chosen setting
[LIGHT] or [STRONG] lights up.
10. Start the coffee machine by pressing the [START/STOP] button. This button and the ring-shaped indicator led start to flash,
the coffee beans are being ground and after that coffee is made.
11. Once the filtering process has been completed, a beep will sound and the ring-shaped indicator led lights up continuously.
Take the glass jug from the hot plate and pour the coffee. Tilt the glass jug by no more than 45 degrees to avoid spillage.
The hot plate under the glass jug is switched on automatically when making coffee and is switched off again after
35 minutes (three beeps will sound and the ring-shaped indicator led goes out).
12. Coffee tastes best immediately after it has been made, so do not wait too long before serving. The glass jug can
immediately be placed back on the hot plate or you can pour the coffee into a thermos jug.
MAKING COFFEE WITH SHOP BOUGHT EXTRA-FINE GRIND COFFEE
When making coffee with shop bought extra-fine grind coffee, you must add extra-fine grind coffee in the filter and press
the [GRIND OFF] button so that the accompanying indicator led lights up before you start the coffee machine. In that case,
no beans will be ground.
3. Scoop the required amount of coffee (extra-fine grind) into the filter bag or permanent filter and gently shake the filter
to even out the coffee. According to your taste, use 1 level measuring spoon per cup of coffee. This is approximately
5-7 grammes of coffee per cup. For 10 cups you will use 10 level measuring cups of extra-fine grind coffee.
4. Place the ring-shaped cover back on the filter holder and fully swing back the filter holder, otherwise the glass jug will not
fit properly under the filter holder.
