Indoor/Outdoor Use
This light is rated IP44 Water Resistant. It is designed to be used indoors or outdoors
under normal operating conditions of rain, snow and wind. It is NOT designed to be
submerged in water or any other liquid. If your light is exposed to excessive heat
above 125F (50C) or cold below -5F (-20C) it may no longer function properly. If you
are using your light outdoors, it is recommended that the light be brought indoors
during extreme conditions.
Install Batteries
Use a #1 or #2 Philips Screwdriver (not included) and remove battery door (4).
Insert 3x new AAA in the directions indicated noting the polarity of each battery (5).
Place door back on and tighten screws.
Only use fresh batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries.
When light becomes dim or sensor no longer operates properly, it is time to install
new batteries.
Please recycle/dispose of the used batteries in the correct manner according to your
local ordinances.
Install the Cradle
The Cradle (2) is provided to not only hold the light in place, but to allow easy
removal for battery change or to temporarily remove the light. The light WILL
function outside the cradle. To install the cradle, place it where you want to
mount the light and mark the two holes (3) with a pencil, screwdriver or awl. It is
recommended that the sensor be at a height of 12-18" (30.5-46 cm) to provide
the best path illumination. If you are mounting in wood or a stud, choose a 3/32"
(2.38mm) bit and drill a small pilot hole. Use the included screws and attach the
cradle to the surface from the front. If you are mounting indoors, in between studs,
drywall anchors with similar sized screws (not included) will provide a stronger, longer
lasting installation.
Operation
This light is equipped with a PIR (passive infrared) sensor (1) that can detect motion
under dusk to dawn conditions up to 20 feet (6m). This sensor will activate the LEDs
when its 100° path is broken ONLY when lighting conditions permit it. This helps
ensure a long battery life by not activating when light is not necessary. The light will
remain on while motion is detected by the sensor and shut off after 20 seconds of
inactivity.
Battery Precautions:
1. Use only the size and type of batteries specifi ed.
2. Always purchase the correct size and grade of battery most suitable for the
intended use.
3. Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the batteries as indicated in
the battery compartment.
Reversed batteries may cause damage to the device.
4. Do not mix alkaline, standard (Carbon-Zinc), or rechargeable (Nickel Cadmium)
batteries.
5. Replace all batteries of a set at the same time. Do not mix old and new batteries.
6. Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior to battery
installation.
7. Do not dispose of batteries in fi re.
8. Remove batteries if consumed or if product is to be left unused for an extended
period of time.
