V.A.I.T. – Mod. 356
DIN EN 331 – DVGW – MOP 0.1 / GT 1 - GS 1,6 – Typ K – H – DN 15
OMB Saleri plc. produces a valve which has the following safety features:
• "Push & Turn" security against accidental opening
• "Excess flow" security against accidental breaking of the tube
• Thermal security against the risk of explosion in the case of fire.
This valve is provided with:
1. A security system on the knob which impedes opening if the knob is not pushed down when turned.
2. An integrated shutting safety device automatically stops the gas flow in case of breakage, leakage
or severing of the pipe downstream from the valve or if the limits indicated on the valve are exceeded,
preventing dangerous gas leakages;
3. A thermal safety device which automatically closes the gas flow if the valve is submitted to temperatures
higher than 100° C, which prevents further leakages and can resist temperatures of up to 650° C for at
least 30 minutes, in order to prevent the risk of explosion.
USE
The valves are designed for installation in distribution networks of natural gas, city gas or propane gas from 15 mbar
to 100 mbar, for use in domestic gas appliances, where the supply pressure is already reduced upstream from the
valve.
INSTALLATION
The valve must be installed by a trained professional and following safety regulations.
The direction of the gas flow must match that which is indicated with an arrow on the body of the valve (Fig.1).The
outlet thread must be used for the connection to a pipe with a minimum inside diameter of 12 mm and a maximum
total length no greater than 2 metres. (Fig.2) If thevalve has the letter H marked on it, this means that the valve must
be installed horizontally in relation to the direction of the gas flow.
OPERATION
After having correctly installed the valve and having complied with all safety regulations, to open, it is necessary to
push the tap down and turn it in an anti-clockwise direction through 90°(Fig.1), to close, turn the tap in a clockwise
direction through 90° without pushing it down. The security shutting device does not have manual reset mechanism, it
automatically resets by simply closing the valve.
The thermal security can not be reset, an intervention caused by an increase in temperatures up to 100° C and above
may damage the function of the valve itself and subsequently it would be necessary to replace it.
WARNING
Never introduce objects into the internal pipe, as it could damage or impede the proper functioning of the safety
devices. In order to allow the excess flow device to function properly the valve must be completely open (the arrow on
the tap must be parallel with the direction of the gas flow)
