BUYER AND USER HAVE THE DUTY TO OBEY ALL LAWS ABOUT THE USE AND OWNERSHIP OF THIS BOW
1. SAFETY FIRST
A. Target Safety
•
This bow is NOT a toy. Adult supervision is ALWAYS required when any type of bow is in use.
•
NEVER point a drawn bow at anything you do not intend to shoot.
•
NEVER point a drawn bow at another person.
•
NEVER shoot arrows randomly straight up in the air or in any direction where you may hurt someone or something.
•
ALWAYS be sure of your target and beyond.
•
ALWAYS check your archery backstop for wear before and after each use. All target backstops are subject to wear and will eventually fail. Replace
your target backstop if the surface is worn or damaged.
•
ALWAYS wear safety glasses with any type of archery product.
•
ALWAYS be sure of your local laws and regulations.
B. Bow Safety
•
NEVER "dry-fire" your bow! Dry-firing severely weakens the life expectancy of your bow and may cause damage resulting in injury to yourself
or others.
•
NEVER use underweight arrows. This has the same effect as dry-firing a bow and may cause serious injury.
•
NEVER draw your bow beyond its maximum draw length as damage to the limbs, cables, and strings could occur.
•
ALWAYS inspect your arrows and nock regularly. Damaged arrows and nocks may cause serious injury. Any dented, split, or splintered arrows
should be discarded immediately.
•
ALWAYS inspect your bow after each use. Be sure all parts are secured and accessories are tight. Inspect your string and cables for wear or damage.
•
ALWAYS make sure the accessories are properly installed before shooting.

C. Sight Adjustment (Augusta)
• When adjusting the sight pin position, always remember to "follow the group." For example, if the shot
group is to the left of the target, move the sight pin to the left. If the shot is low, move the sight pin down.
D. Sight Adjustment (Hawksbill)
• The Hawskbill has an rubber ring on the top limb that is used as a reference point for shooting. To use
aim ring at target and adjust up or down as needed –following your shot. (to move your shot up, slide

4. Shooting Preparation
• Put the armguard on the arm used to hold the bow. The armguard should cover the inside of your
forearm to protect it from being struck by the string when it is released.
A. Nocking the Arrow
• Before each shot check all arrow components. This includes the nock, insert, and tip. Make sure there are
no cracks or dents on the shaft and that the nock is tight. With a bow in the relaxed position, snap the
arrow nock onto the string in between the finger rollers, making sure that the hen fletching is facing out..
Keep the shaft aligned with the center of the arrow rest and string.
• Place your index finger above the nock point on the upper finger roller with the middle and ring fingers
at the bottom rollers under the arrow.
B. Ready to Shoot
• Draw the bow string back to your jaw and anchor your first finger at the corner of your mouth. Keep your
arm slightly bent, and with the bow vertical, aim at your target, and release the bow string. Never release
your string without an arrow nocked.

5. MAINTENANCE & CARE
It is important to inspect your bow regularly. Proper care and regular maintenance will keep the bow in good condition.
A. Lubrication
• Wipe the cable guard periodically with a dry cloth to keep cables running smoothly and free of dust.
• Cams do not require lubrication. If other lubrications is necessary, use white lithium grease or Teflon™ lubricants. Avoid excessive lubrication of any item, as
this can attract dirt.
B. String & Synthetic Cable Maintenance
• Regularly apply a high quality bow string wax to your string and synthetic cable system. Regular waxing protects your cables and string from abrasion
and wear. Smear wax into position. Then, rub it gently with your fingers or a soft piece of leather to work the wax into the strands. Replace frayed or worn
bowstrings and cables immediately. Clean your bow thoroughly after each use. Lightly use lubricant wax on all steel parts to prevent rust, such as axles and
mounting screws.
C. Storage and Transportation
• Avoid exposing your bow to temperatures over 150 degrees. Excessive heat may damage your bow. Never store your bow close to or in any wet or damp
areas. Clean your bow thoroughly after each use. Never put your bow away wet or store it in a damp place. Lightly oil metal parts to prevent rust.
