Installation instructions
IMportant! Follow this instruction when installing
the anode kit together with kit 21211763 on electri-
cally conductive hulls.
One kit per Volvo Penta IPS unit must be installed.
1.
Mark and drill two 32 mm diameter holes in the hull
(B) close to the lower edge of the transom. Make
sure the anode is located below the waterline by a
good margin.
2.
Seal the hole and surfaces with marine sealant in-
tended for underwater use.
3.
Tighten the stud connection through the hull so that
no leakage can occur. tightening torque 50±2 nm
(37±1.5 lbf.ft). Use a sufficient quantity of sealant in
the stud connection.
4.
Install the cable between the anode stud connec-
tion and the exhaust outlet (A). the tightening
torque for the exhaust outlet bolt IpS1 is: 50±2 nm
(37±1.5 lbf.ft). the tightening torque for the ex-
haust outlet bolt IpS2, IpS3, IpS15, IpS20, IpS30
is: 75±5 nm (55±4 lbf.ft).
Use anti-rust agent (part no. 9510227) to complete-
ly cover and seal the two cable connections. Make
sure the two connections are connected correctly.
IMportant! The anode must not be connected to
anything other than the Volvo Penta IPS. The two
Volvo Penta IPS units must not be connected to-
gether.
