INSTALLATION
The Extended Depth Collar Accessory

can be installed into the housing before
or after installation into the ceiling.
EDC4X41 is for 1" – 1-1/12" thick ceilings;
EDC4X42 is for 1-1/12" – 2" ceilings.
1. Remove the four hex head screws holding the
original collar to the housing (Figure 1.). DO NOT
DISCARD SCREWS.
2. Align the collar with the aperture of the plaster
frame (Figure 2.).
3. Adjust the collar to be level with the bottom of the
drywall, or otherwise desired depth:
A. Insert the four hex head screws, such that it
holds the Extended Depth Collar. Do not tighten.
B. Adjust the depth until the bottom of the collar
is at the desired level (Max. adjustment – 0.5").
C. Once collar is confirmed to be at correct
height, tighten the four inner screws (Figure 3.).
Elements must have the position of the torsion springs
changed in order to be compatible with EDC4X41 or
EDC4X42. The following elements are compatible with
the Extended Depth Collar Accessories:

4. Remove the torsion spring from the bottom
position by compressing the spiral until the spring
can be removed (Figure 4.).
5. Insert the torsion spring into the top position.
First, insert the leg into the gap such that it

is between the bracket and the reflector, and then
compress the spiral until it can be inserted onto the
bracket (Figure 5.).
6. Repeat for the other torsion spring on the reflector
(Figure 6.).
