UV-C PROFESSIONAL 18 WATT, 36 WATT & 55 WATT

OPER ATING
In the Xclear UV-C Professional, a UV-C radiation with a wavelength of 253.7 nm is generated
by the special UV-C lamp, ensuring a lethal effect on bacteria, viruses and moulds (including
Legionella bacteria and Cryptosporidium). The UV-C Professional will ensure that your water
is clean, fresh and clear in an efficient and environmentally-friendly manner. The water is
led through the UV-C device via a pump. The UV-C radiation neutralises bacteria, viruses
and other microorganisms and stops them from multiplying. Also algae are destroyed by
the radiation guaranteeing that your pond water is clear. The UV-C Professional has a built-
in electronic ballast. This ballast ensures optimum performance of the lamp. In addition,
the stainless steel interior of the reactor ensures the reflection of the UV-C rays, thereby
increasing the efficiency up to 35%. Thanks to the UV-C Professional, your water will be
disinfected efficiently and safely, and the quality of your water will remain excellent.
INSTALLATION (DRAWING 3)
Never submerge this device in water. Always install it on the outside of the pond. Always
put the power plugs for the equipment into a socket with a cover (Drawing 1). When using
medicines, the device must be disconnected.

Determine the desired location for the unit and secure the loose supports (A).
2.
The three-way coupling (D) must be used for a fixed Ø63 connection. For a fixed Ø50
connection: glue the (I) adapter into the three-way coupling (D) with the inside thread
pointing downwards. For the hose connection: glue the adapter (l) in the three-way
coupling (D) with the inside thread pointing upwards. Saw the transparent hose
connections (B) to the required diameter and screw them, including the rubber sealing
rings (C), onto the adapter (I).

Unscrew the cap (E) of the housing unit and install the lamp (F) in the lamp holder (G).

Screw the cap (E) back on the housing unit, in case of hose connection: attach the hoses
using hose clamps (not included).
5.
Press the unit carefully into the supports (A) and fasten the clips.
6.
Connect the earth cable (Drawing 2). The cable (K) must be pulled through the strain
relief (J) before installing the strain relief (J) onto the bolt. You do this by positioning
the strain relief (J) at about 10cm from the end of the earthing cable (K).
7.
Operate the pump and check the system for free water flow and leaks.
8.
Operate the UV-C device and check if the light is on. You can see the light through the
transparent connectors that are UV-C resistent.
DISMANTELLING (DRAWING 3)
Before maintenance, or dismantling, of the device, always disconnect the electrical power
from the mains. The device must be cleaned twice a year. When algae growth or calcium
deposits increase, the quartz glass tube (H) in which the light bulb is inserted should be
cleaned. The UV-C bulb must be replaced after 9000 burning hours.

Loosen the connections and let the water run out of the unit.
2.
Unscrew the cap (E) with the unit bulb and if necessary replace the special lamp (F).
3.
Carefully remove the quartz glass, using for example a coin. Never use force!
4.
Clean the quartz glass using appropriate cleaning materials. Always use a soft cloth to
avoid scratching the quartz.
5.
When replacing the quartz in the housing unit ensure that the sealing rings (L) are
correctly positioned.
6.
You may need to smear vaseline onto the black foot of the quartz glass (M) in order
to facilitate fixing it back into the housing unit. Ensure that no vaseline gets on the
transparent hose connectors.
