CONNECTIONS
Use good quality cables to prevent bad audio quality. For more information on connections, please
refer to the next chapter.
Be sure to turn off the unit before you make changes to the wiring.
In this manual we talk about "line inputs". This is a global name for inputs with a level between 750mV
and 2V. This includes tuners, videos, CD-players, etc.

FRONT PANEL

1. Power (Power ON/OFF switch): Used to turn on the power of the unit, the associated blue led
will be lit.
2. Echo delay range: To make the delay control (4) more precise, it has 2 ranges. With this switch
you can choose between 0-400ms and 400-800ms range.
3. Peak led: monitors the signal levels, this led may only turn on from time to time.
4. Echo Delay time: With this control you can set the length of the delay time. Together with the
repeat time (5) you will be able to create the echo you desire.
5. Echo repeat control: Used to control the feedback or number of echoes you want to create.
Together with the delay time (4) you will be able to create the echo you desire.
6. Echo level control: Used to control the level of the echo signal that will be mixed with the original.
Use it to make the perfect balance between the original and the effect signal.
7. Bypass switch: Used to switch the echo module on/off. If you only use the mixer capabilities of
the unit, you can turn the echo module off to increase the signal/noise performance.
8. Master output control: Used to set the master volume of the mixed aux1 and aux2 signals. The
microphone inputs are not affected.
9. Aux2 input control: Used to set the input level of the aux2 input.
10. Aux1 input control: Used to set the input level of the aux1 input.
11. Mono/stereo switch: Used to switch the master output between mono and stereo mode.
12. Talkover switch: Used to switch the automatic talkover function on and off. When the talkover is
on, the music from aux1 and aux2 will be automatically attenuated when you talk in one or both
microphones connected to mic1 and mic2. This function is very useful when the microphones are
used to make announcements etc. Just talk and the music is attenuated!
13. 3band equalizer for micros: With the high, mid and low tone controls you can adapt the sound
from both micro inputs. You can also use this equalizer to prevent acoustical feedback from the
connected microphones. When the DE600/KM4.1 is connected via the insert input (16) you can
also use the equalizer to influence the sound of the echo signal.
14. Mic2 input control: Used to set the input level of the Mic2 input.
15. Mic1 input control: Used to set the input level of the Insert or Mic1 input.

REAR PANEL

16. Line/insert input: When the DE600/KM4.1 is used with the effect section of a separate audio
mixer, connect the effect send of the mixer to this input. Use the Mic1 control (15) to adjust the
input level. The insert (16) and Mic1 inputs (17) can't be used at the same time!
17. Input Mic1: Used to connect the first microphone. Use the Mic1 control (15) to adjust the input
level. Both the insert (16) and Mic1 inputs (17) can't be used at the same time!
18. Input Mic2: Used to connect the first microphone. Use the Mic2 control (14) to adjust the input
level.

19. Input Aux1: Used to connect any line level sound source. Use the Aux1 control (10) to adjust the
input level.
20. Input Aux2: Used to connect any line level sound source. Use the Aux2 control (9) to adjust the
input level.
21. Master output: Used to connect an amplifier. Both aux and microphone inputs are mixed at the
master output. However only the output level of the 2 mixed aux inputs can be set by the master
volume (8).
22. Echo output/footswitch: Only the echo signal is present at this output.
 When the DE600/KM4.1 is used with the effect section of a separate audio mixer, connect
the effect return of the mixer to this output.
 When the DE600/KM4.1 is used to mix the microphones and aux inputs via the master
output (21), you can connect a footswitch to this connector. The echo on the microphones
will be bypassed when you connect the signal from this connector to ground (for example
with a footswitch).
23. Mains input: connect the supplied cable to a 230V/50Hz mains outlet. Before use, inspect the
cable to be sure it's not damaged! The main input is equipped with a fuse to protect the unit.
Replace it only with the same type and value: 20mm glass fuse 250V 500mA slow blow.
