FASTBACK PHOTOBOOK BINDER MODEL 25 USER'S MANUAL, 203794
THE FASTBACK® PHOTOBOOK SYSTEM
IV
The Fastback® Photobook Binding System consists of four
components:
•
•
•
•
The Fastback Splitter (figure 2) is a revolutionary device that treats
the binding edge of sheets to ensure a strong bind . Ordinarily, the
papers that are used to create photobooks are coated to enhance
the appearance of the photographs . The Splitter uses a totally new
F I G U R E
method to prepare these difficult-to-bind, coated papers, so that
virtual any document can be bound, even if it is printed on the most
bind-resistant paper . The Splitter creates a channel in the center of
each sheet, which allows the adhesive to attach itself to the interior
paper fibers . It no longer matters if the paper is coated, the sheets
will stay firmly bound for the lifetime of your photobook .
The Fastback® Model 25 Photobook binder (figure 3) is the latest
in Powis Parker's line of on-demand binders . The Model 25 was
designed to handle the heavy workloads associated with high-
volume, on-demand photobook production . It is specifically designed
to work hand-in-hand with the Fastback Splitter and the new
PhotoPro Strip™ to deliver a strong and even bind .
The PhotoPro™ binding strip (not shown) is specifically designed
F I G U R E
to create strong binds with paper that has been processed with the
Fastback Splitter . It contains a special thermal adhesive that wicks up
into the paper fibers to create a bind capable of rivaling sewn sheets
in strength and appearance .
The final component is the Fastback® Hardcover™ Guide (figure
4) . With the Guide and Powis Parker's Hardcovers you can create
professional-quality Photobooks easily and inexpensively in less than
a minute .
