Steps of mounting of the modules
Within a system samos®PRO the controller module is located on the
left-hand side of the modules, followed by one or two optional
gateways. Then the I/O-expansion modules SP-SDIO and/or SP-SDI
are following.
Please note, when replacing a module, that modules are pushed
apart approx. 10 mm before the corresponding module can be
removed from the standard rail. Controller modules with the new
housing are 100% compatible with all existing samos®PRO modules
Expansion modules with the new housing are 100% compatible with
all existing samos®PRO modules.
•
The system samos®PRO is designed for the use in a
cabinet with a protection degree of IP 54 or higher.
•
The module housing is 22,5 mm wide and is de-
signed for installation on 35-mm-DIN-rails which cor-

responds to EN 60715.
•
Gateways are not to be plugged in or removed from
the samos®PRO system when supply voltage current
is on and flowing.
•
The mounting rail has to be connected to FE.

For mounting or dismounting, observe the follow-
ing safety guidelines:
• Disconnect supply voltage to the equipment prior
to starting any work!
NOTE
• During the installation pay attention to ESD-
protective measures. Otherwise the system can be
damaged. Use the integrated connector in the
housing to connect the modules.
• Take the appropriate measures to prevent foreign
objects from obstructing the connector openings.
• Installation according to EN 50274.
4.1.1
Mounting the SP-COP module
1. Pull the latching foot outwards with a screwdriver.
2. Hook the module onto the standard rail (make sure the shield
spring is seated correctly!).
3. Swivel the module onto the standard rail.
4. Slide the latching foot against the standard rail with a screw-
driver until the latching foot snaps into place with an audible
CLICK.
5. Make sure that the module is firmly mounted onto the standard
rail. Try to remove the module from the standard rail with a little
pressure. If the module remains firmly connected to the rail after
this test, the mounting is correct.
4.1.2
Mounting of extension modules
1. Pull the latching foot outwards with a screwdriver.
2. Hook the module onto the standard rail (make sure the shield
spring is seated correctly!).
3. Swivel the module onto the standard rail.
