INSTALLING ARM HB6000
Before beginning to assemble the arm, check that its range of movement is free
of obstacles (fig. 1).
Columns used for assembly of the MATIC system must be made exclusively out
of reinforced concrete.
Walls of any other type must not be used without first contacting the RUPES
technical office.
At the point where the arm is to be assembled, use a plumb line to draw a line per-
pendicular to the floor starting at a height of 450 cm (fig. 2). This line will be ali-
gned with the middle of the wall shelf (1) of the arm (3).
The heights given are maximum heights; if the room is lower, reduce all connec-
tions in proportion. The EP3M unit should be fixed to the wall at a miminum height
of 165 cm measured from the floor to the bottom of the unit.
Warning!
All height measurements given below refer to the height of installation specified
above.
Wall shelf (1)
Determine height, move 5 cm to the right of the midline and make a mark for the
first hole (fig. 2). Drill the hole (Ø 16 mm, depth 90 mm min.) which will be ali-
gned with the upper right hole in the wall shelf (fig. 3). Before inserting the dowel
(2) in the hole, clean the hole with a jet of air, then insert the dowel and tighten it
slightly.
Use a level to check that the shelf is parallel and make marks for the other holes
(fig. 4).
Move the wall shelf out of the way and drill the holes, then insert thedowels and
tighten the whole in place, using a level to check that it is parallel (fig. 5 and 6).
Warning!
Before proceeding to assemble the arm, make sure that the four dowels hold the
shelf firmly in place.
Arm (3)
Raise the jointed arm (3) to the height of the shelf and insert the hinge pivots in
the right order, as follows.
10
Arm assembly sequence (fig. 8)
- Clean any traces of paint out of the holes in the shelf and in the arm;
- apply a thin layer of bearing grease in the pivot holes and on the pivots;
- position washer D in pivot C;
- insert pivots C and washer D in holes;
- position Belleville washers E on shelf surface;
- raise arm using appropriate equipment (hoist, etc.);
- insert pivots in holes in shelf;
- position washer F and locknut G;
- screw in nuts G so that they permit only slight rotation;
- make sure that the weight-bearing concrete column and arm are firm.
Use the hose clamp provided (10) to fasten the flexible sheath (6) Ø mm 90 to
the arm outlet collar (fig.7).
Connection hose (9)
Make two holes 8 mm in diameter, one at a height of 110 cm and the other at a
height of 320 cm above the floor on the midline (fig. 9).
Fasten the collar (8) to the wall. Repeat the operation at the lower height.
Insert the utility cables and hoses in the connection hose (9), fit the hose (6) on-
to the connection hose and position the entire unit, fastening the pressure collars
in place as shown in (fig. 10).
INSTALLING ELECTRICAL PANEL (15 optional)
Make a mark corresponding to the top right anchor point of the electrical control
panel (15) 175 cm above the ground and 48 cm to the right of the midline. Put the
panel in place and make marks for the remaining holes. Drill holes
Ø 8 mm in diam. and proceed to fix the electrical panel in place and hook it up.
N.B. The installer of the general electrical installation must provide an electrical
box equipped with two-pole magnetothermal 6Ka - 30mA 16A (230 V)
differential circuit breakers and be provided by the installer of the general electri-
cal installation.
Warning!
Connections must be made by a qualified electrician.
INSTALLING AIR TREATMENT UNIT (14)
Make a mark corresponding to the first fastening point of the air treatment unit 95
cm above the ground and 40 cm to the left of the midline (14). Put the unit in pla-
ce and make a mark correponding to the other point. Drill holes 8 mm in diame-
ter and proceed to fix the air treatment unit in place and hook it up to the com-
pressed air supply.
Connect the 6x14 mm hose (12 - dry air) to the snap-on connection (14B).
Connect up the 10x19 mm hose (13) (lubrificated air) to the connection (14A).
ASSEMBLY OF EP3M UNIT
Fasten chains (25) to collar (26) of the unit using the screws provided. Screw the
threaded pipe coupling (27) and fit the assembly onto the intake pipe forcefully. Fit
the Ø 90 corrugated hose over the collar of the unit and lock it in place with the
hose clamp provided.
Pneumatic connection
Connect up the 6x14 (12) dry air hose and the 10x19 lubrificated air hose (13) as
follows:
- the 10x19 hose to the Ø 12 mm hose connection (23) supplying the two outlets
for pneumatic tools;
- the 6x14 hose to the 7 mm hose connection (24) supplying the utility air outlet.
Both hoses must be fixed in place with the hose clamps provided.
Electrical connection
Connect the 3x2,5 power cable (28) emerging from the arm to the terminal board
(29) of the unit, connecting the poles correctly.

- YELLOW GREEN 3
Warning!
To make this connection correctly always refer to the pneumatic diagram and wi-
ring diagram supplied with this instruction booklet.
INSTALLING THE DUST EXTRACTOR KS260M
Insert the corrugated hose in the union (57) of the dust extractor (fig. 11).
Insert the tool outlet power cable (16) into the outlet (46) (fig. 11).
Insert the dust extraction unit's power cable (39) into the outlet on the electrical
panel (15) (optional) (fig. 12).
Exhaust connections
A special curved sleeve (38) (optional) can be connected to the exhaust (41)
found on the rear of the head, to discharge air filtered by the machine.
