tection device to protect the motor when it (or the blade) shuts
down (or blocks) during operations, for whatever reason.
• Function: to prevent overheating and damage to the motor,
caused by abnormal use.
• Triggering of the protection device: when an abnormal event oc-
curs, the power supply to the motor is shut down immediately.
Procedure to follow when the protection device is triggered:
– release the switch lever;
– disconnect the extension lead;
– check what caused the blade to suddenly come to a halt (clean
the cutting guard);
– allow the machine to cool down in a cool environment (for from
30 to 60 minutes).
Precautions when starting up the machine again:
– check that the blade is able to move freely (using protective
gloves);
– check the safety conditions in the surrounding area (objects on the
lawn, persons or animals in the vicinity);
– connect the extension lead;
– enable the switch;
– if there are no abnormalities, such as unusual noises, you can now
continue your work.
