8. WIRELESS MIC A/B CHANNELS: input channels for the wireless mics. Both channels have a separate
on/off button below the level knob. Important: make sure to close the level knob (12) before switching
on the mics!
9. STEREO LINE / PLAYER INPUT LEVELS: The upper knob is the input level for the multifunctional
player (5). The other knob is the input level for the stereo RCA line input (10).
10. STEREO LINE IN/OUT: "LINE IN" is an extra stereo input with separate level control (10). "LINE OUT" is
a stereo line output for the mixed audio signal, after master level (same as the speaker output).
11. HIGH/LOW TONE CONTROLS: separate 2band equalizers on all inputs. Control range is +/-15dB for
both high (10kHz) and low (80Hz) freqs.
12. INPUT LEVELS: separate level controls for the different input channels. Make sure to put the level knob
to zero before connecting a new audio source. After connection, slowly turn up the level.
13. EFFECT "REV" SEND: the PPA-01 has an internal echo unit for the different mic inputs, good for
karaoke! With the effect (REV) send knobs you can determine the amount of audio sent to the effect unit.
14. EFFECT DELAY CONTROL: controls the length of the delay, from short to long.
15. EFFECT ECHO CONTROL: controls the repetition rate of the echo effect.
16. MIC PRIORITY / TALKOVER: press this button to automatically reduce the music from the player while
talking in the microphone. You don't have to fade down the music manually while talking to the audience.
17. MASTER LEVEL: master control for the audio coming from the mixer.
18. MONO/STEREO SWITCH: the PPA-01 is equipped with an internal 100W class-D amplifier and mono
2way speaker system. You can also switch it to stereo, in this case the amplifier works as a 2x 50W
stereo amplifier. You can connect an extra (optional) speaker to the speaker output (19) for stereo
playback.
19. SPEAKER OUTPUT: you can connect an optional speaker to either the 6.3mm jack or Speakon output.
However make sure that the connected speaker cabinet has at least 8ohm impedance!
20. VIDEO OUTPUTS: composite analog video outputs from the internal player. You can connect a monitor
or video projector to these RCA-connectors. (presentations, playback of films in school etc.)
21. BATTERY SWITCH: to comply with regulations the batteries may not be connected during long
transports. To avoid that you have to open the battery compartment to connect the batteries, we installed
a battery switch.
IMPORTANT: while unpacking the PPA-01 this switch is set to OFF. Put it in ON-position before
you start using the PPA-01, otherwise you will not be able to use and/or charge the batteries!
22. 12V CAR BATTERY INPUT: you can also connect the PPA-01 to the 12Vdc output of your car. Use the
supplied 12V cable to connect the unit to the cigarette lighter connection of your car.
23. MAINS INPUT: Mains input with IEC socket and integrated fuse holder, connect the supplied mains
cable here.
24. POWER ON/OFF SWITCH: switches the unit on/off.
25. POWER INDICATORS: 3 leds tell you more about the condition of the internal battery:
PWR: the blue led is on while the unit is switched on (battery, mains or external 12Vinput)
BAT: indicates that the battery is connected.
CHARGING: indicates that the batteries are charging.
26. CARRYING HANDLE: a retractable handle, easy to take the PPA-01 with you!
27. TOP COMPARTMENT: small compartment on top of the PPA-01. You can easily store the wireless
mics, antennas, IR-remote, small cable, ...
28. WMIC BATTERY INDICATOR: the wireless mics (wmic) work on 2pcs
AA-batteries. While the batteries are in good condition (full), the LOW-
indicator is off. Once the indicator is lit the batteries are becoming
weak and should be changed. The POW-indicator is lit while the mic is
switched on.
29. WMIC SWITCH: this wireless handmic has 2 positions:
OFF: position to be used when the mic is not used.
ON: the mic is fully functional (sending RF-signal + audio)
30. WMIC – BATTERIES: the wireless mics have a small battery
compartment. Slide it carefully open to gain access: inside you
can put 2pcs AA-battery (Alcaline or NiMH rechargeable
batteries) See the battery indicator (28) to check the condition
of the batteries.
31. WMIC – CHANNEL FREQUENCY: both wireless mics have
their own specific working frequency: this frequency is marked
here.
