Clinometer
This compass is additional equipped with a clinometer for the
measurement of angles of inclination (see picture)
1.
Open the lid so thath compass plate and cover from one
straight surface.

Turn the white scale ring to E
3.
Place the longitudinal side of the compass vertically onto
the inclined surface so thath „NORTH" is facing
downwards.
4.
The black mark on the vertically suspended disk
(clinometer disk) now indicates the given angle of
inclination on the red inner scale (one graduation mark
corresponds to 2°).
5.
Follow the same method when measuring an inclined
surface from a distance. Fix the inclined surface with the
upper edge of the longitudinal side (mountain side, roof
etc.) Now you can read the angle of inclination from the
red scale described under 4.
