The worktop is pre-treated at the factory
with hard wax oil and no other treatment
is necessary until the surface starts to
wear. When the surface has starts to wear
or become dry, it's time to treat it with
BEHANDLA wood treatment oil. Start by
cleaning the surface and preparing it by
sanding it lightly in the direction of the
grain using fine sandpaper or Scotch-
Brite™. Wipe away any sanding dust with
a dry cloth. Use a cloth or brush to apply
BEHANDLA wood treatment oil in a thin,
even coat. Leave to penetrate the surface
for approximately 15 minutes. Wipe off
any unabsorbed oil with a dry soft cloth.
After the first treatment, sand the surface
lightly with fine sandpaper. Let the surface
dry and repeat the treat¬ment after a few
days. To ensure that the worktop will retain
its durable surface for many years to come,
treat it with BEHANDLA wood treatment
oil when needed. Treat sensitive areas,
such as around the sink and hob, more
frequently.
Scratches and light blemishes can be
treated with fine sandpaper on a sanding
block. Remember to always sand in the
direction of the grain. For daily cleaning,
use soap or water. Never use chemicals
to clean the worktop. Worktops above a
dishwasher, washing machine or oven,
should have FIXA diffusion barrier mounted
to the underside for added protection.
Warning:
Wash out any used cloth impregnated with
this product immediately after use and
store in an airtight container to prevent the
risk of self-ignition.
