(2.1) Mounting the JBL pH Control measurement and control device

First attach the mounting plate with the two screws supplied in a suitable horizontal
position on the wall near the aquarium.
Then line up the mounting at the back of the device with the top edge of the bar
and, with a light push at the front, click the device into place. (It can be easily taken
off the mounting plate at any time by slightly lifting the release catch with a small
screwdriver.)

(2.2) Installing the sensors

Connect the plug of the pH sensor and the temperature sensor with the correspon-
ding connections on the appliance. Do not install the two sensors in the aquarium until
calibration has been carried out.
(2.3) Connecting the CO
Connect the CO hose which leads from the pressure reducer on the storage cylinder

to the screw connection labelled IN on the device. To do this, remove the union nut on
the connection, push it over the end of the hose, push the hose onto the connecting
piece and tighten the union nut by hand. In the same manner, attach the hose leading
to the reactor in the aquarium to the screw connection labelled OUT on the device.
Please do not forget to fi t a check valve as close to the reactor as possible to protect
your valuable equipment against a backfl ow of water.

(2.4) Connecting the power supply

Plug the universal power supply unit into an adjacent power socket and plug the
device plug on the cable into the socket labelled 12 DC on the device.

(3) Initial start up

When power is fi rst connected, the display shows a page asking for the language to
be selected followed by calibration. Other menu items cannot be selected at this stage.
This is for your own safety, as the device would measure meaningless values if calibra-
tion had not been successfully carried out. Once these stages have been completed,
any other selections can be made.
If the main display page (Item 5) appears instead of "Language selection", the device
has already been used (demonstration etc.) In this case, carry out a reset (Item 10.2):
disconnect the plug from the socket labelled 12 V DC. Keeping the two selection keys
pressed, reconnect the plug to the socket. Continue holding the two keys pressed until
the display shows the language selection prompt. Then release the keys.
